Awsome for the price July 20, 2008

I bought two of these to place side by side. They work great. I would recommend them for the way i use them--bookkeeping, spreadsheets, and some music video. By choosing these monitors i get a lot of screen real estate without having to change my video card like i would have had to do if i purchased a 30" screen instead of these two 20" screens. (These monitors afford native resolutions of: 1600x2 by 1200; or 3200 by 1200 all together when the screens are placed side by side.) br / br /The light changes a bit with the viewing angle, but it's not something that bothers me. br / br /Cannot be viewed well from underneath--looking up at the screen. However I'm never at that angle, so no problem. br / br /The beveled edge is not as thin as on Dell's 19" screen; however this is a 20" screen. I don't know if Dell makes a 20" screen 1600x1200 with a thinner beveled edge? br / br /The font is small due to the high resolution, but i was expecting that. I changed the Windows XP Font size to "Large" which helps enlarge fonts in some places, and not in others. br / br /Another option for making things larger on the screen without changing the native resolution, is Changing the DPI in windows, but this wasn't a good option for me because some dialog boxes were no longer able to fit all the elements originally designed for the dialog within the parameters of the dialog anymore. (Buttons, input boxes, labels, or other elements would be pushed off the dialog window area etc... at the higher DPI Settings.) (This of course, is inherent to windows and not specific to these monitors. I mention it here because i was thinking it would be a good option for enlarging everything on the screen, but it turns out that it has the limitations listed above.) br / br /Overall, I would recommend these monitors if you can handle the smaller font sizes. The extra room on the screens is great.

I have had this monitor for just over one year and want to let everyone know that it is really fantastic! I am using it as an external monitor with a Macbook at 1600x1200 resolution and it works very well. br / br /By the way this monitor replaced one by Sceptre that crapped out after 13 months. That was the second Sceptre as a previous one had problems after 6 months.

Love this monitor, especially in 1600 by 1200 resolution! br /Great color and no dead pixels. 2nd one I bought. br /Amazon's price is the best.
