Best Monitor I've ever owned, and I've had $5000 monitors December 11, 2008 Ken Elliott (Daytona Beach, FL United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm a IT guy, CAD user and pro photographer. Over the years I've had the best monitors and was willing to pay $5000 for a good monitor. But this HP is the best I've ever owned. After calibrating it, there was hardly any difference from the factory default. Impressive. It's way bright, perhaps too much so. I dialed the brightness way down. The size is perfect. I found 30" monitors somewhat too large. It also has HP's quick release system connecting it to the stand. It detaches by simply flipping a leaver and lifting off the stand. Nice. br / br /It also had dual inputs for two computers. And it can be set to auto switch to an input. In other words, you can have two computer attached and which ever one turned on, the monitor will see that input and switch to it. Nice. br / br /I'd suggest this monitor for photographers, CAD users and anyone who wants a nice, large, bright and accurate screen. Its not the cheapest, but for what it does, it is a bargain. Monitors better than this will cost 3 times more money. I used to review monitors for a CAD magazine, so believe me when I say this thing is "Highly Recommended".
Just beautiful... November 12, 2008 E. Moll (Chicago, IL USA) I bought this monitor, notwithstanding the other two not-so-stellar reviews to date, based on a large number of excellent reviews from two other on-line vendors. It turns out that the monitor is cheaper on Amazon (and I get free 2-day shipping). br / br /I have not been disappointed. Very sharp, great color, brightness and contrast, a piece of cake to install, very clean look (with no useless speakers). While the monitor is 24-inches, it conserves space on my desk below bookshelves due to a thin bezel. The stand is sturdy. While it isn't the cheapest 24-inch monitor, I don't think there is currently a competitor with the 178 degree viewing angles, 500 cd/m2 brightness level, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, outstanding color reproduction, 6ms response time and anti-glare/antistatic screen at this price-level. It may be over-kill for office work, but if I'm going to be looking at this monitor for 9+ hours/day, I might as well get a nice one!
two DVI but only one USB May 22, 2007 gadgetmaster (Austin, TX United States) 5 out of 34 found this review helpful
This monitor is incapable of functioning as KVM switch replacement, because there is only one USB input. br / br /If you play games this monitor isn't for you. Some reviews indicate that it is unable to support even 60 frames/sec. A decent CRT has no problem with 100 frames/sec.
