Awesome monitor!! July 10, 2008 Ashwin A. Jadhav (Dallas, Texas) This is a beautiful monitor and worth every penny!! You cannot go wrong with this purchase. It has VGA and HDMI ports which makes it easier for those like me who have a VGA out on their PC and is also future proof by having an HDMI in (I am looking for a reasonably priced graphics card with HDMI out).
Great monitor at a great price point July 3, 2008 G. Lawrence I bought this to work with my Macbook and have a home setup with an external keyboard. For this task this monitor is awesome. I'd been researching for a few months and when the prices dropped and snatched this 2007 model up. I actually prefer this model over the 2008 because it offers DVI inputs and not HDMI. THe 2008 only offers VGA and HDMI so I would of needed an adapter cable. Basically I would have had a cable going from Mini DVI-->DVI, then another cable going from DVI-->HMDI... what a pain! This monitor was super easy to setup and looks great. The black glossy surround looks sharp and you get a lot of setup options. I did not use the included setup software as I heard many complaints. I don't like installing added software that may not be needed either so I passed on it. The monitor looked good right out of the box, but it did need some tweaking to the setting. This is where I fault this monitor a little. I have yet to find the sweet spot for settings. I went through the Apple screen setup and it didn't help much. I ended up finding a profile someone else has made online and downloading it and have been using that for the past month. The swivel stand the monitor sits on is awesome! This is the main reason I made the jump to a 22" monitor. The 20" HP2007 does not have any height adjustment. I'm tired of using monitors like this and craning my neck. The adjustments on this monitor are great; you get height and tilt and you can position the screen long-ways to view documents better with less scrolling. Overall I'd give this a 9 out of 10. -1 pt for the color controls being hard to setup.
Love my pair of HP w2207 Monitors! June 24, 2008 Markus H. Kleis (San Diego, CA (USA)) I ordered a pair of these HP 22 inch widescreen monitors from Amazon (TigerDirect) and aside from the fairly slow shipping I am very happy. They are very nice monitors and work great.
HP W2207 22" Wide Screen Flat Panel Monitor June 21, 2008 Kirk J. Greenman (Kaunakakai, Hawaii) I purchased the monitor as a combo unit with a computer. I purchased three of them and they all work great.I have them setup for my internet service and everyone really likes them. For the price its get the 22" you won't be dissapointed. The portrait option is great for typing and really being able to see whats on your page before you print it. There is no need to see a print preview because you can see it all.
Great bang for buck! June 20, 2008 Fishing Fool I ordered this HP display from Amazon (sold by TigerDirect) and have been very satisfied with it. It is bigger than I had expected which was a nice surpise. Mine didn't have any dead pixels and it came with both VGA and DVI cables as well as the audio cable. I didn't need the DVI cable because my PC uses HDMI so I bought a high quality HDMI->DVI cable from Monoprice for about $7. So far it has performed very well. Of course it's not perfect but for the price you really can't beat it. Believe it or not, the feature that stood out the most to me was the nice spring loaded stand/base. It's very stable and not flimsy like those on the DELLs. The stand itself looks nice too and has a large indentation so that you could put stuff in the stand like pens, memory cards, loose change, batteries, remotes, etc. In my setup I have a 4 port HDMI switch box placed in the stand. Another feature I liked was the pivot which allowed me to view digital portraits in their native orientation. Surfing the internet in portrait mode is very nice too. If I had the money I would've bought two of these LCDs one for portrait mode and the other for landscape mode. This LCD also includes two USB ports which are useful to those with computers located in a remote location where their normal USB ports are. This LCD is also HDCP compliant so you could watch protected digital HD content on it or hook it up to a standalone upscaling DVD player. The power button is cool too, it's transparent and not really bright. It has a unique teal green color when lit which is a fresh departure from the common/trendy standard blue LED. A small detail but nice nonetheless. I sit about 4-5 ft from the display so when watching movies it's like looking at a 42" LCD from 8ft away. I highly recommend this LCD since it performs well has nice features and priced very competitively.
