Mediocre quality. Has some interesting features though.. March 30, 2007

First of all: Installation is a little awkward. Not quite in perfect english. Installation files are very small in size which I like as they work fast and don't disrupt other applications.
After installing I had all kinds of problems of the printer working 'sometimes' and sometimes not. It turned out that the printer didn't like the USB cable that works just fine with other devices.
Printer's construction is not very solid. The plastic seems to be quite cheap and breakable. Scanner is quite slow and rather noisy. Scanner bed take the regular letter size (A4 must take too), but is too small for legal size, which comes on many other all-in-one's.
Programs are not the most user friendly at first I would say, and you have to get used to them. When you click 'scan' you would expect to have it all scanned and brought up in some imaging application. Instead you have to specify where you want it to go.
But as this seemed to be a roadblock at first, later it turned out to be a nice feature that I personally like a lot.
Specifically, this feature allows you to set-up several scanning profiles, which then can be selected directly from the printer to perform actions you specified earlier: each configured 'scan target' allows you to: scan with pre-set resolution, scan type (B&W, gray, photo), and specify program to open it with OR FOLDER TO SAVE IT TO. This is my favorite feature of this printer.
So.. mixed feelings: not very heavy duty but with some nice features..
