Pretty good little scanner February 20, 2007 Amazon Buyer (New York, NY, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this about a week ago to convert my huge collection of personal files to digital format (yes, the paperless dream) After scanning about 1000 docs in the past couple of days, this is what I found: br / br /Pros: br /- Fast scanning. Using 300 dpi black and white using the ADF, it spits them out just a tad slower than my big copier at work. ADF works well MOST of the time (see below) br / br /- Pretty decent software. The ScanWizard DI interface is nice because you can scan directly to PDF and into a folder of your choice, with a name of your choice. I've heard that in other programs that takes several steps. br / br /- Good quality bW scans. Perfect for my new paperless world. br / br /Cons: br /- ADF does jam occasionally-- I'd say about one out of 100 pages. Odd thing is, I can't figure out why-- Iv'e thrown a full stack of mangled, dog-eared files in there and it rips through it in no time, while other time it refuses to digest perfectly groomed, clean-edged paper. Still, it hasn't jammed often enough to push me over the edge. br / br /- NO SUPPORT FOR WINDOWS VISTA!!! Coincidentaly I just bought a new computer at the same time and found out there are NO drivers are available until August 2007! The new computer had to be converted to XP. br / br /So overall, I'd say I'm happy. The occasional jamming issue is a bit irritating, but I think most people won't run it day and night like I did! So if you have moderate bW scanning needs, i think you'll be happy.
Great scanner March 16, 2006 B. Bichalski (Fairfield, NJ) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This scanner is one of the best scanners out there for this kind of price. Not only was it easy to set up, it is super fast and reliable. I usually scan 10-20 page documents, just black and white and have it save in PDF format. It takes about 2-3 minutes to do a 20 page document. There are so many other features I haven't even look in to. Definitely two thumbs up!!
