Product Description
With an optical resolution of 3200 dpi and a massive scan bed of 12" x 17", the ScanMaker 1000XL is the highest-resolution tabloid-size flatbed scanner on the market. The 1000XL comes with reflective calibration target, FireWire and Hi-Speed USB interfaces, and a robust software package including Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0. Plus, with built-in DIGITAL ICE Photo Print Technology and Microtek's ColoRescue, it's easy to correct damaged photos and restore color in photos and film. Add the optional Transparent Media Adapter with film templates to achieve superior film and transparency scanning up to 12" x 16".

Functions well and the color is fairly accurate. br /The portrait format makes it difficult to place on a desk that is not that deep and it is noisy. br /The Epson equiivalent would have been a better choice, similar cost but it's quiet, fast and has a better photoshop interface. br /Also, an annoying thing: the underside of the lid is black which makes it difficult to scan drawings on trace paper. The Epson has a white underside.
