Product Description
Sometimes less is a lot more. Like the CanoScan FB 620P. It takes up less desktop real estate than most color flatbed scanners on the planet yet still delivers exceptional 600 dpi scanning performance-ideal for businesses with a variety of scanning needs. And because it's from Canon, you can count on innovative design inside and out, making it simple to scan everything from magazine graphics, photos and business cards to articles and more. Creating attention-getting reports and presentations, sharing paperless documents, e-mailing scanned data and maintaining a digital file cabinet has never been easier. The CanoScan FB 620P is easy to use right out of the box. No training necessary. Just plug it into the power outlet and your PC's parallel port and it's ready to use. A patented image sensor helps produce outstanding results, whether you're scanning graphics or clip art, text to import into your favorite word processing application, or photos for presentations or e-mail delivery. And when used with a photo-quality ink jet printer, count on spectacular photo-realistic results. The CanoScan Parallel Flatbed Scanner comes complete with all the software you need to scan, enhance and produce great-looking images. Adobe PhotoDeluxe gives you the easy-to-use tools to enhance and manipulate your scanned images. And TextBridge Plus OCR software helps you quickly and easily import scanned text into your word processing application of choice.

Amazon.com Review
Make high quality scans of graphics, photos, line art, or text, and get great imaging and optical character recognition software for an incredibly low price#151;all with the Canon CanoScan FB620P scanner. It's so small, and so cute; the CanoScan seems barely bigger than the documents it scans. p To setup the CanoScan, we attached the parallel cable to our PC (USB is not supported), plugged in the AC adapter, dropped in the CD-ROM, and followed the setup wizard. (If you restart your computer before running the CanoScan's setup wizard, you can cancel the Windows New Hardware Installation wizard that runs automatically.) When you're following the setup wizard, make sure you indicate that you want to install the 620P, not the 320P whose drivers are also included on the same CD-ROM.p In our tests of the CanoScan, we first conducted preview scans of several documents and images just to get acquainted with the scanner. These preview scans and other low resolution scans (75 dpi) were fast and easy, but high-resolution scans were very slow, on the order of several minutes. Still, the images were sharp and clear, and the final scans were comparable to those of much more expensive scanners.p If you're looking for an inexpensive, light-duty scanner that's easy to setup and learn, the CanoScan makes a fine choice. 4 out of 5 stars Great beginner scanner   January 5, 2000

Was somewhat more difficult to set up than I anticipated. I had a few problems configuring it with Windows 98. Once setup was complete, scanner is easy to use and a great space saver. High res scans are slow, but all scans are clear and colorful. I did not receive a rebate coupon with scanner and wasn't able to find it on the website to print out. Requested copy of coupon by fax and still waiting to hear. This is a great scanner for beginners and light users, I highly recommend it!
