Utilizing the 5.8 GHz frequency and digital signal transmission, the E5600 cordless telephone creates a consistently clear connection with exceptional range and high security levels. The system is expandable to a total of eight handsets; this set includes one. The LCD screen of the handset is a full-color display that allows you to select one of 31 images as wallpaper or visual ring tone; the screen on the base is a traditional LCD that displays text information. Both screens provide access to a 50-entry phone book; with subscription to local Call Waiting Caller ID service, the screen will also display the name and number of the person calling. Through the display and dial feature, you can quickly return a call, or use the redial button to access one of the last five numbers you've called. Both the displays and the keypads are backlit for easy legibility under any lighting conditions. A digital answering system provides 15 minutes of messaging space, along with options like skip, save, remote message retrieval; you can also record a memo for other family members.  Great phone and features, beware buying refurbished September 26, 2008
The Rowdy One
I bought one of these phone that was factory refurbished and I really liked the features and performance. Unfortunately, almost six months to the day after receiving it the phone died. At first I thought that there was a problem with the phone line because the phone would ring once and stop. Picking up any phone in the house resulted in no dial tone. Since the DSL was still functioning I suspected that it was one of the phones and it turned out to be the EP5995 base station that was causing the problem. Factory new this is probably a five star phone but because of my experience with the refurbished model I'm giving it only three.

We love this phone. We purchased one for our home and liked it so much we purchased another for our vacation home. I has all the features needed. The speaker is excellent. No static. The person on the other end doesn't know he is on a speaker. Handset also has a speaker. Very useful.

Anybody else having problems with the redial? If somebody calls and you just miss the call, and you want to hit redial straight from the caller id info, it doesn't include the 1 first before the area code and you have to manually dial it every time. I tried to find a setting in settings but I can't seem to find it. Anybody have any suggestions on this? Other than that major issue, this phone rocks! It even tells you the line is in use if somebody is on another phone in the house so you don't pick up in the middle of their conversation.

Bought this several years ago when my old one died. I thoroughly enjoy the features it has, more so than the newer ones. It's a breeze to get an extra hand set, or more, and registers an expandable handset within seconds.
