Awesome!!! August 30, 2008 I. Ximines (USA) Receive this today and I love it. It was easy to set up and a very fast machine. No more using my other printers to print labels. I actually got it about an hour ago and it is already up and running.
Brother P-Touch QL-500 Manual-Cut PC Label Printing System May 24, 2008 R. Clark (CA) This is a very fine product, while it doesn't have all the fancy bells and whistles, it gets the job done. It is user friendly, esp. for those of us that are a bit techno challenged. I have saved loads of time printing address labels for envelope of different sizes.
LOVE IT May 23, 2008 Amy W (Costa Mesa, CA) Oh my goodness, any desk that mails anything or files anything needs to have one of these. Not one jam, you can add cool images (albiet it's only black & white) use your own fonts, and it's so simple, so fast, and works exactly how it says it will. LOVE IT.
Needs Better Template Layout May 9, 2008 Leon Davis (Mesa, Arizona, United States of America!) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
First off, the machine works fantastic. Install the software. Plug in the machine, turn it on, and connect the USB cable. So far, so good. The problem is finding the desired label template. I loaded big shipping labels and I needed a layout that had a separate area for my return address. Then for every new address I should get a label with my return address and a blank space to enter that of the recipient. After half an hour I finally figured out a way to make a the label I wanted but I'm doing something wrong but I'm too impatient to devote more time to figure it out. When I need to make a new label I have to first delete the previous address. I only make a few a week so that's no big deal. Seems to me the problem is this: (sit up straight and pay attention, Brother engineers) the machine is built for an office environment. People who work in offices use software like Excel and Word and Quicken and so forth. So for them it's a piece of cake. I don't work in an office. I'm just a guy who wants to make a few labels. So please, make the template selection easier to find and work with. And one other thing. Print the English and Spanish manuals separately. I'm trying to figure this thing out and every time I pick up the manual I get the non-English side. Oh, Brother! Otherwise, like I said, the machine itself works really great. Makes a very impressive-looking label.
So easy to use May 8, 2008 Bradly J. Lewis (Portland, OR USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Unpacked, dowloaded driver and software from Brother website. Plugged in when software said to. Installed labels. Restarted computer, started software, typed in label words, POW! out spits a label faster than you can say "jiminy crickets". Software: Type the words, highlight and click font-size adjuster and everything adjust proportionally. Love it Hardware: Fast, quick on/off, cutter is sharp, works great. Everything I wanted. I can peel off a printed label in a few heartbeats without hardly thinking. That's what I wanted, that's what I got. Satisfied customer. I've done 44 labels in first hour. What more can I say?
