I didn't even know they still made manual typewriters when my grandfather told me he wanted one, but when I found this one on Amazon I was very happy. It is solid, sturdy and sold for a good price. My grandfather is happy, too.

This is a cheap manual typewriter as the previous reviewer noted. The one I had 20 years ago of a similar design was much better than this, but there was competition back then for quality manual typewriters. If you want to bang out a rough draft in the middle of the woods (or on the balcony) without running a cord, this is better than nothing. You should get an electronic typewriter or a computer for anything else.
