This is the best thing I have purchased in a very long time. It is easy to operate, the screen is clear and easy to read indoors or out. I have also purchased a silicon protector and screen protector which have enhanced the product for me.

I bought my Kindle back when you had to wait about 6 weeks for them and there were count down days until the arrived plus many discussion groups about it. I was not sure about ordering one because I thought it was a little pricy. I was going on a trip and had 8 books piled up to take with me. I wanted to read them while sitting on the beach than I looked at the pile again and decided to ordr the Kindle. It is a great investment. I am very glad I bought it. It fits nicely in my purse and I take it every where I go. I don't mind waiting for anything any more, I read my Kindle instead of getting annoyed. (Now I get annoyed because I have to stop reading). The Kindle print is very easy to read I like the fact you can change the size of the print if your eyes get tired. If I want to read a book in a series, its nice to know you can order the whole series and have the next book waiting for you. I was concerned about the cover but found good advise with putting a piece of velcro on it and it works fine. I don't have anything bad to say about it and have read over 50 books so far.

Kindle: Amazon's Wireless Reading Device
I've had my Kindle for about a month now and I've seriously never bought anything that's made me happier. Reading on the Kindle is easy and using the store to purchase books is really easy. The battery stays charged and I can get multiple days of reading time with the wireless off. I bought a 4 GB SD card and I'm pretty sure I've got enough room to buy books until I die.
Now the things I wish the Kindle had - in the nice to have category: a better holder. My Kindle does come loose on occasion but that's more an annoyance. On my serious wants I wish Amazon would work to get Mobipocket books available on the Kindle. I spent a weekend working to get the books I purchased on Mobipocket transitioned to Kindle. I'm done but it would be nice for those who haven't purchased yet.
All in all, the Kindle has been one of my most satisfying purchases in quite a while. I highly recommend the purchase.

I am an avid reader. I have a tendency to be reading 2 or more books at a time. I also have a 6 yr old daughter that loves to take my bookmarks from the books that I am reading, which means that my space is lost and I have to start back at the beginning. So when I saw the Kindle, I figured that it would be a great investment. I am able to read as many books as I want without having to remember where I set them down at. There is no need for bookmarks because it remembers where you left off at. The price paid to download the books is a fraction of the price of the actual book. You can read a sample of the book before buying it, unlike at the store. It is light weight and portable, I have taken it on trips to read. Several of my family members are also avid readers and they are mad that I got one for me and not them.

I am a U.S. soldier currently deployed to Iraq, and my wife got me this for Christmas. I have to say, it is one of the best presents I have ever gotten. Considering the environment here, the Kindle performs above my expectations. I have had no problems with it for the 8 months that I have had it, through dust storms, unbearable heat, and dropping it from my cargo pocket or backpack. It's been a lifesaver at times (in the boredom sense!), when all the troops have had to sit around. I just whip out the kindle, and start reading. Yes, the wireless access doesn't work in Iraq, but it's still ridiculously easy to plug it into your computer and get a book. This little device comes with me to work every day, and a lot of my breaks are spent with a smoke in one hand and the kindle in the other. Yes, the keys are big and very easy to hit, but it feels like the kindle was designed purposefully like that so you can read one-handed. As for battery life, I charged my kindle to full just before I went on leave back to the states, and it lasted (no kidding) through the 7 hour flight to Ireland AND the 6 and a half hour flight to Atlanta. I finished two books on that flight!
This device is absolutely amazing, and I can see myself using it during any future deployments I am in. Thank you Amazon!
