Amazon.com An attractive cast of young performers lead by Brittany Snow (iHairspray/i) is the main selling point for iProm Night/i, a remake of the 1980 Canadian slasher film starring Jamie Lee Curtis. Snow makes for a capable lead as the sole survivor of her family's massacre at the hands of an obsessed teacher (Jonathan Schaech), who returns three years later to finish his campaign on the eve of her senior prom. While no one's idea of a classic horror film, the Paul Lynch-directed iProm Night/i offered viewers a modest whodunit angle in between the killings; here, the villain's identity is known from the get-go, and what's left is a string of mechanical stalkings (which feature a surprisingly modest amount of blood) and reams of turgid teenspeak, which is handled as best as possible by Snow and her cast mates. The end result is a dull, suspense-free chiller that manages to make its mediocre source material seem inspired by comparison. Older moviegoers may note the presence of actors Idris Elba and James Ransone, both used so well on iThe Wire/i, and so thoroughly wasted here. --iPaul Gaita/i p span class="h1"strongStills from IProm Night/I (click for larger image)/strong/span table border="0" cellpadding="4" width="100%" cellspacing="4"p p tr align="center" valign="top" td img border="0" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/PromNight/PromNight_1sm.jpg"br /tdp tdimg border="0" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/PromNight/PromNight_2sm.jpg"br p /td tdimg border="0" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/PromNight/PromNight_3sm.jpg"br /td/td tr align="center" valign="top" tdimg border="0" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/PromNight/PromNight_4sm.jpg"br p /td tdimg border="0" src=" http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/PromNight/PromNight_5sm.jpg"br /td tdimg border="0" src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/PromNight/PromNight_6sm.jpg"br /td/tr/table

Not A Bad Movie. Its worth Your time. Good to add to your Collection November 8, 2008 Derek Tyson I would buy a used Dvd copy of this movie from like BlockBuster 3 for $20 sale. But get the unrated version. Not as bad as people are saying.
Well...... October 8, 2008 Lex (Virginia) Even though my proms sucked they weren't as bad as this one. The actual prom scenes were really good. I mean who wouldn't have wanted a prom that looks like that? If mine had then I would have hated them less. br / br /But when it comes down to gore, blood and a slasher flick this is worse than my proms. There's relatively little blood, which is different, and I believe done on purpose. You know who the killer is from nearly jump street. Doesn't leave much to the imagination. He kills with a purpose, but I think he killed one too many people. br / br /I was a bit put of by the fact that the interaction between him and Donna was surprisingly little. The killer is a psycho and I was left wondering what he saw in her that made him go crazy like that. br / br /Overall it's an ok film. Maybe one I should have waited until it was on the .99 shelf at my local store, but what's done is done.
