How about a new villain and a dash of IIt's a Wonderful Life/I to spice up the third installment of the popular Tim Allen holiday franchise? Under the onslaught of another Christmas season, Santa Claus/Scott Calvin (Allen) is feeling even more pressure because Mrs. Claus (Elizabeth Mitchell, reprising her role from IThe Santa Clause 2/I) is expecting a little Claus and also longing for the company of some "tall people." So Scott agrees to let her parents (Ann-Margret and Alan Arkin) visit as long as they believe that they're really in Canada rather than at the North Pole. Further complicating matters is a visit by Scott's ex-wife (Wendy Crewson), her husband (Judge Reinhold), and their daughter, Lucy (Liliana Mumy). Enter the bad boy of the Council of Legendary Figures, Jack Frost (Martin Short), who's supremely jealous of the figures who have their own holidays, especially Santa. So he launches a plan to sabotage the toy factory and compel Scott to invoke the little-known Escape Clause and wish he'd never become Santa. The resulting evocation of a classic Christmas movie, IIt's a Wonderful Life/I, is seasoned with a splash of IBack to the Future/I when Scott rewinds 12 years (has it really been that long?) to when it all began. Though neither sequel has matched the charm of the original ISanta Clause/I, both have been safe, reliable family fare. (All ages: some crude humor) I--David Horiuchi/I

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding movie!   October 18, 2008
Adam Speck (PA)
I own all 3 Santa Clause's, and I think there all great! All are funny and bring the Christmas spirit to your house. First one is the best, but I think the 2 sequels are great as well.

4 out of 5 stars Very cute - love "Jack Frost"!   October 16, 2008
J. Bradford (New York State)
Martin Short plays Jack Frost and is excellent in this role. br / br /None of these movies were made to win Emmys. They're just fun, family friendly, and interesting (particularly some of the sets). br / br /So, don't expect award winning acting but this is definitely something unexpected - when the third movie is BETTER than the second. The second movie was pretty bad and forced. This is more natural - and takes a page out of Frosty the Snowman with a "cold hearted" Jack Frost character trying to steal the show.

5 out of 5 stars captions extra stuff   September 4, 2008
critters (VA)
The captions for "Santa Clause 3" are very, very good! The movie is excellently done in complete fashion; I find it extremely annoying when captions skip over dialogue. About 2/3 to 3/4 of the extra stuff is captioned just as well, including my personal favorites--the blooper real and the backstage interviews, etc. I noticed that some entries in the "Music More" category (music videos, etc) weren't captioned, but I didn't go through every one. br / br /Much better captions on this entry. Thanks, Disney!!!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Addition to my Trilogy Favorite!   June 11, 2008
Merna D. Throne (USA)
My nieces and nephews have loved the Santa Claus movies as well as myself. Yes, I admit the kid in me loves these movies just as much. I have added this movie and have my 'trilogy' complete. br / br /We watch them every Christmas and have Santa Clause parties... br / br /Great Movie! br / br /Merna Throne br / br /Pocket of Pearls: A 30-day pocket workbook to start hearing a softer voice inside of you! br /
