5 out of 5 stars Half a Floyd better than Pulse   August 29, 2008
Bob Joseph (The Bronx)
'Remember that Night' might be billed as David Gilmour, but it comes off better than the Pulse DVD which is actually Pink Floyd - in name anyway if not in total execution (Roger Waters absence will always make it seem less than authentic and legitimate). Gilmour and fellow Floyd Richard Wright do very spirited versions of the old classics, and there's "Fat Old Sun" which Pink Floyd hasn't done since Atom Heart Mother days, a very welcome deep cut and great version. Being that it's Gilmour and not Floyd, there isn't nearly the spectacle and stage-show that Pink Floyd is associated with - so hearing the old Floyd numbers in what is a solo Gilmour context with Wright, and other Floyd-related musicians is a treat. Would be nice if Gilmour did any solo material besides the entire 'On an Island' disc, but that's a small point of contention, not one to pass up 'Remember that Night' if one is a die-hard Pink Floyd fan. Or David Bowie fan (who guests on "Comfortably Numb") or a Crosby, Stills & Nash fan (on this DVD is the only place to see "Crosby, Gils & Nash" do a most moving rendition of "Find the Cost of Freedom", worth the DVD price alone)

5 out of 5 stars Get this blu-ray only if you are a audiophile   August 3, 2008

Get this blu-ray only if you are an audiophile because the Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track will knock you off your feet with its chilling presence and sound envelope.....hats off to the sound engineers on the HD side....as of video i would give it a 7/10 for the immense graining and the inconsistent clarity...but this concert is about music and it delivers beyond expectations..

5 out of 5 stars David Gilmour   July 31, 2008

Great music from a band far ahead of there time. Only wish they could put there differences aside and get the original players together.

5 out of 5 stars DAVID GILMOUR / REMEMBER THAT NIGHT   July 23, 2008
Gina Roberto-bush (PETERSBURGH,NY USA)
DAVID GILMOUR IS ONE OF A KIND!
A GRAND HEART & SOUL WITH SUCH INSIGHT AND TALENT.
DAVID GILMOUR IS PURE PERFECTION!
GRAHM NASH AND DAVID CROSBY SING BEAUTIFULLY WITH THIER HARMONIES, AND I LOVE NASH'S EXPRESSIONAL INTHUSIASM.
DAVID BOWIE IS A PLEASURE TO SEE, AND HEAR SINGING ARNOLD LANE. THE SONG WAS MEANT FOR BOWIE TO SING.
ALL MUSICIANS PLAYING ARE INCREDIBLY TALENTED AND VERY ENJOYABLE TO WATCH.
THE ENTIRE DVD IS FLAWLESS. SO MUCH TALENT AND ENTERTAINMENT IS WITHIN FROM BEGINNING TO END!
ONCE YOU LISTEN AND WATCH, YOU WILL BE IN AWE!

5 out of 5 stars absolutely amazing   July 17, 2008

You will not be dissappointed. A MUST-HAVE blu-ray for Pink Floyd or David Gilmour fans. The music is amazing, even the solo material is wonderful, all in amazing high definition. The accompanying documentary is insightful and a joy to view as well. Breathtaking performances. The guest stars are wonderful too. Next best thing to being there. My favorites are Fat Old Sun and Echoes.....wow!!!!!!!!!!!! Great price too!
Thank you!
