4 out of 5 stars Not perfect but overall outstanding value.   November 18, 2009
J. M. Rose Jr. (NOVA)
I bought the BD370 about 2 months ago as my first blu-ray player. I chose it because I generally hear good things about LG, had to have one that could stream Netflix, and the price ($168 at the time) at Amazon was unbeatable. br / br /The bottom line is this player does what I had wanted it to do when I purchased it, and I'm totally satisfied with my choice. I have it connected via HDMI to a Sharp 52" 1080p for video and my Bose Lifestyle 28 for audio (digital coax from tv to Bose); internet connection is via cat-5 to a wall drop. After a couple months of operation, my minor gripes: br / br /1. When streaming Netflix, there is about a 2 second delay after I un-pause before I get audio. If I'm watching a dvd, the delay is smaller but still noticeable. I am going to connect player straight to the Bose Lifestyle with an optical cable to see if that helps. br / br /2. When selecting to play a Netflix video, sometimes I'll get a message telling me my internet connection is slow and I'll experience frequent pausing during playback. If I back out of Netflix and then come right back in, usually it goes away and I get flawless playback (except for problem #1 above). br / br /3. For whatever reason, the volume level of the audio coming from a blu-ray dvd is awfully low. It's not to the point I cannot hear it or even close, but when I am watching a blu-ray I'll have to put the volume on my Bose up to "50" or so when I would normally have it on "30" to watch something else at similar volume. br / br /Some may criticize the lack of wireless capability but so far I've found wired connections are much better for streaming video over the internet, particularly if you're expecting to stream HD content from Netflix (which this player does). Even if it had wireless, I would use a wired connection, which is exactly what I'm doing in another room with my Roku player. br / br /This is a good player with features I really like. It's not perfect but I'm very happy with it and it's definitely enhanced my home entertainment quality. If you have a Netflix subscription and you haven't yet made the jump to blu-ray, this is a no-brainer.

5 out of 5 stars I love this player. Amazing netflix and Blu Ray   November 18, 2009

I just own this past 3 days. Setup was so cool. Upgraded the firmware. I saw around 4 netflix movies and it was of excellent video and audio quality. I think LG is up converting the video. br / br /Blu Ray movies were awesome. I would recommend this player to everyone. br / br /Youtube video is as good as the quality available in youtube. If the video is choppy in youtube it appears same way in the tv also. br / br /I am very happy to buy this player.

5 out of 5 stars lg Blu-Ray DVD Player--Excellent Choice   November 16, 2009

LG BD 370 Network Blu-ray Disc Player br / br /I purchased this player when upgrading my home theater system to HD. It was an excellent choice. br / br /I chose the lg player because it was Blu-Ray, because it could receive Netflix downloads directly via the internet and because it was priced so low. I am extremely pleased with my choice of the lg player. It is easy to use, fast loading, and displays the quality I want for my system. I recommend it to everyone desiring a quality player at a reasonable price.

This product is great. The set up was not too hard. We purchased it for the abilty to stream Netflicks and it is marvelous. We have watched photos from our computer via the wirless router. The quality was much better than a photo disc. DVD's are great.

4 out of 5 stars Works well!   November 14, 2009

Only thing I don't like about this player is CinemaNow. You have to buy most of their features to view them. I don't surf YouTube that much either, so there's two of the players main internet functions that are basically useless to me. On the other hand, Netflix setup went like a charm. Couldn't be easier. Player downloaded it's firmware upgrades faster than the Samsung BDP1600 I did have. This cost less, but I did like Samsung's features more. But, I bought the player for Netflix and blu ray, so for the price, can't be beat! Design is nice with the blue circle when dvd loaded in the middle of the player; turns red when a regular dvd is inserted. Another thing this has that's better than Samsung, it plays dvd+r where the other didn't. All of my collection is on dvd+r. The remote is cheap plastic gets the job done, but LG could've spent a little more time in it's layout quality. Overall, this is a good player for what it does setup couldn't have been easier!
