Beginners Get This BOOK! June 1, 2004 Keith (New York) If you are a novice at hooking up a surround sound system, I would recommend Joe Pesce's book, "Easy to Understand Home Theater Setup." Most systems consist of several different components. Sometimes the instruction booklets that come with the different components offer conflicting or confusing information on how to hook up your system. This book gives detailed instructions with pictures on how to get your system to work together properly. The book also gives you several different ways to hook up your system depending on the type of connections you have on the back of your components. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to get their system up and running quickly without frustration.
No figures for connection information April 16, 2004 I ordered/bought this book based the reviews on Amazon web site and the publication date. Specifically, I wanted to learn about the DVD recorder connections for a home theater system (with A/V Reciver) since no books (that I know of) in this subject covers it. The book has long pages of explanations with almost no figures/drawings. The few existing figures are not numbered, but references are made to them. Therefore, you have to number them yourself first. If you prefer reading pages of explanations about how to connect the equipments, this book may be for you. If you prefer to see a simple drawing showing you the connections, this book is NOT for you. In addition, I found the organization of the pages (about connections) confusing.
