Product Description Audiovox became a pioneer in the wireless industry, selling its first vehicle-installed wireless telephones in 1984 as a natural expansion of its automotive aftermarket business. Its extensive distribution network and its long-standing industry relationships have allowed Audiovox to benefit from growing market opportunities in the wireless industry and to exploit niches in the consumer electronics business.PRODUCT FEATURES: Digital wireless FM transmitter with 35 selectable frequencies built-in; Small low profile design; Large 6-line LCD display with amber backlighting; Dedicated jump button for in out access to your favorite programming; Memory capture feature (S-Seek) stores 20 of your favorite songs; when activated can search all of the incoming Sirius channels for those songs; Listing and search ahead capability by channel name, artist name, or song title; Time based functions including an on-screen clock, alarm, sleep timer and program alert which allows the receiver to switch to a pre-programmed channel at a selected time.
Amazon.com Product Description Designed for use in the car, through your home stereo, and even in Audiovox's compatible boombox, the SIR-PNP3 Sirius plug-and-play tuner receives more than 120 streaming satellite radio stations, including stations with commercial-free music, talk, sports, and children's programming. Listeners will need an Audiovox home or car kit to use the tuner, but once equipped, they can transfer the tuner between the house and the car stereo as often as they like, negating the need to buy second and third receivers. The tuner is remarkably easy to use, with a large 2.5-by-1.38-inch amber backlit LCD screen that displays the artist info, song title, category, and time, along with a 0-9 number pad and a wireless remote that allow for direct channel access. Users can manually adjust the contrast and dimming level for better viewing, or they can set the display to Auto Dimmer so that it instinctively adjusts to the ambient light level. The receiver also includes a built-in FM transmitter that broadcasts satellite tunes through any FM radio--a bonus for people whose car stereos don't come with auxiliary inputs. Otherwise, most users will choose to connect the tuner (via one of the Audiovox kits) to a stereo's RCA jacks or 3.5 mm auxiliary input for better audio performance. p The SIR-PNP3 is equipped with a number of convenient user options. Most listeners will appreciate the 30 presets in three separate banks (A, B, and C), along with the preset scan function, which browses among the preset channels rather than perusing the entire station catalog. In addition, the receiver includes a preset list mode that displays the preset channels either one at a time or six at a time, with listings by channel name, artist, or song title. To save time, listeners can also directly access Sirius channels by their three-digit channel numbers rather than paging through the channel directory. Additional features include a Look Ahead function, which checks the current playlist of other channels without leaving your current station; an S-seek function that searches the Sirius signal for songs or artists that match your pre-determined favorites; and several time-based options, including an alarm clock, a sleep mode, and a program alert that automatically activates the radio and turns it to a specific program at a preset time. p The tuner measures 4.5 by 3 by 1.5 inches (W x H x D) and carries a one-year warranty on parts and labor. Listeners will need to purchase a compatible car kit, home kit, or boombox along with a subscription to Sirius to enjoy satellite radio programming through the tuner. p bWhat's in the Box/bbr SIR-PNP3 tuner, wireless remote control, two AA batteries, Sirius channel guide, silica gel desiccant packet, product registration card, user's manual.

Works Great - Versatile - Goes from House to Car November 25, 2008 Matthew A. Hogarth (British Virgin Islands) Bought this for my sister on Christmas and she really loves it. She spends alot of time in traffic and this certainly keeps her entertained.
The best! September 1, 2008 TargetSaver (South Suburbs of Chicago) While this is an older version, I prefer it. It is easier to install and works out great for me. I have tried a newer version, but I keep looking for the older versions. If you find one of theses, snap it up. I do!
Sirius Satellite Receiver November 3, 2007 S. Goldberg Excellent. Based on other reviews, this is the best receiver of the bunch.
Sirius, good; information, bad June 27, 2007 Patricia Rosenleaf (Great Falls, MT USA) While we really like our second Sirius Satellite Radio Receiver, we were not so pleased with the seller which/who neglected to let us know that we would have to buy the hook up equipment separately. What we got was unusable unless one already had a boom box (another $100.00+ expenditure). We happened to have a boom box which we had been using with our first receiver, and so we have a permanent receiver now with the boom box, but we had wanted it for our truck.
Good for 2 years of daily docking. March 10, 2006 Michael J. Nelson 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Sirius radio content is great. I like the fact that the Audiovox docks in the house and car. Except for the fact that it got hot, it performed very well. I've had the SIR-PNP2 since January 2004 the unit died February 2006. The pins from the socket on the inside of the unit wore down and the audio started cutting in and out. The main board has a socket that takes pins from the extranal socket that fits the docking stations. So, if you're going to buy this type of unit expect it to wear out after a couple years of taking it between the house and car every day. My wife leaves hers in the car, so she's fine. I switched to a home based unit (SR-H550) to make MP3s of my favorite shows. NPR is on FM for the drive to and from work anyway. The SR-H550 sounds better and doesn't get even get warm.
