Amazon.com Product Description
Stay in tune and connected while strolling down the street with the Motorola Motorokr S9 active Bluetooth headphones. Combining ease of use with the latest Bluetooth wireless technology, the phones are ideal for Bluetooth-enabled cell phone owners or for iPod owners with compatible adapters. The S9 phones are distinguished by a behind-the-head design that weighs just over an ounce, providing the ultimate in comfort whether you're working out or riding mass transit. The phones' ultra-compact 0.51-inch ear buds, meanwhile, fit softly in the ear even during extended use--a must for long conversations or listening sessions. And users will love the innovative touch-sensitive controls on the sides of the headband. The touch controls let you easily adjust the volume, skip or repeat tracks, or answer a phone call while on the move.

The stylish S9 wireless headphones fit comfortably behind the ear and weigh just over an once.
The S9 phones make a terrific workout partner thanks to the wireless technology and the water- and sweat-resistant design. Want to listen to your iPod at the gym without getting tangled in wires? Buy an iPod Bluetooth adapter and you're set. Alternatively, you can listen to your mobile phone's music selection during tough workouts, or even music from your home stereo while lifting weights nearby using the DC800 stereo adapter.

The phones are compatible with Bluetooth 2.0-enabled cell phones, iPods with Bluetooth adapters, and select other devices.
Phone-wise, the S9 headphones are built to provide superior call quality, less interference, and faster connections thanks to the Bluetooth 2.0 wireless technology. Class 2 Bluetooth also provides a range of up to 33 feet--enough for a variety of home and portable applications. For optimal outdoor performance, users should position the music device in close proximity to and in the line of sight of the S9's internal antenna, which is located in the base behind the user's head. Placing the music device in a front pocket is not recommended.

Other details include support for up to six hours of music listening or seven hours of talk from a single charge of the 180 mAh lithium-ion battery; a mini USB connector for charging; and a stylish black housing with red highlights. The phones measure 4.9 by 1.8 by 5.1 inches (W x H x D), weigh 1.14 ounces, and are backed by a one-year warranty.

5 out of 5 stars Great wireless solution   September 18, 2008

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. I wanted a wireless solution for my ipod (and other bluetooth audio) so that I could walk around the offices without taking off the phones or grabbing the ipod. I did get the ipod dock adapter, but I also have an audio jack adapter.

I have read much about the quality of bluetooth audio, and have so far been discouraged. I expected tinny, scratchy audio but this was not the case. I am a hardcore audiophile, and regularly wear the bulky but awesome Sennheisers, only reverting to the earbuds when mobile. I can say, without hesitation, that the S9 headset is nowhere near as great sounding as the Sennheisers, but nowhere near as bad as some earbuds I've tried. Better sound and fit than the bundled apples, and almost, but not quite, on par with Sony's MX series, although, still, better fitting. For me, I was always irritated pulling a wire wrong and losing an earbud. Apple's seem to require replacement often.

These are NOT adjustable, and it may be annoying for some to tilt your head all the way back and feel the rear of the headphones. However, they are incredibly light, and you will not feel them at all unless you try. They stay put, and, most importantly, I have yet to lose an ear during any activity. I ride bikes, workout, and they are tremendous audio partner's for this. They also come with 3 sets of buds, so adjustment shouldn't be a problem. I have read complaints about not being able to lay back or launge with them. I use them when I'm up, walking around, working out, or working, and when I'm, lounging I use my Sennheiser's, so I don't have a problem. If you're looking for great stationary sound, spend the money on a good set of wired phones.

The buttons on the ears can be frustrating at first, because as you're getting used to them, you will adjust the ears and inadvertantly hit a "previous track" button. I quickly adjusted to this and after a day of use, this is no longer a problem for me, and, in fact, love the ease of the buttons for volume and track selection. They are easy to find by feel due to the design. I cannot comment on how well they work for use with a phone also, as I do no use them with my phone. Battery power is true to description, I fully charged them, drained them fully, charged them fully (according to instructions), and got slightly over 6 hours with them. Not 7, but over 6 isn't bad.

For those who don't find them loud enough, adjust the volume on your audio device BEFORE you insert the adapter. I have had no problems with audio volume. The ipod doesn't seem to push enough for my Sennheiser cans, but these are powered well.

Pairing was incredibly easy, much easier than previous BT headsets for my phone. Turn on the ipod or audio device, play a song, press pause, hold the power button on the phones to light it steady blue, plug in the adapter to the dock (or audio jack if you have that adapter), unpause, and wait about 5 seconds for the music to start playing through the phones. Anyone who has had trouble pairing I can't understand. Worked great for me the first time, and I could (unlike the sets for my phones) pair again without refering to the instructions.

In all, I am incredibly happy with this purchase. They sound better than most earbuds, are so light you won't feel them, and put just enough pressure on your ears to keep them in place, but not make your ears hurt like most earbuds. They aren't adjustable, but I find this minor compared to the convienience of wireless with my ipod. I had also used these with a stereo bluetooth adapter for audiojacks, and they work quite well. I can't complain, I love them and they fullfill their purpose completely.
