Beautiful Only June 25, 2008 Shantanu Mishra This phone is the most beautiful phone i ever owned and it surely is a big achievement for Nokia given the loads of ugly phones they create each quarter. But there is a catch, most of Nokia phones are very user-friendly and "important" feature-rich. This phone is quite just the opposite, in the name of features it has absolutely nothing. Who needs a radio FM in the 21st century, maybe internet radio would have woooed me. This phone is for people who need a really sleek, small and elegant piece of hardware in their pocket which they use to make calls and maybe text sometimes. Other than that it does not do anything. And despite all this i love my 8600, it sure is a sight to watch and pleasure to carry. After i saw the IPhone2 keynote i thought, a lot of phone making companies should quit doing so for if they do not loose on the hardware competition they certainly will loose to the collection of apps IPhone has to offer to a user. Thats where i feel bad with my 8600, other than coding myself i see no way to get useful apps on my phone. I bought this phone a month ago from a Nokia retail store in Chicago for 500 plus taxes.
Replacing iPhone June 20, 2008 Tolga (Boston, MA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have purchased and not able to use 8801 before. It attracted too many finger prints, had horrible reception and sound/ring volume. Sounds like 8600 fixed most of these issues. Reception is still abit questionable but didnt get to use it long enough yet to find out. Unfortunately Amazon send me an open box item with some visual defects.. I have send back my purchase and waiting for them to get more into their inventory to order. Back to the phone... Phone just looks amazing, buttons are perfect not as small as they were in 8801. I love the glow effect and themes that comes with the phone. I have replaced my old iPhone 2G with this phone so I didnt even realize that is heavier then normal phones (as iphone is heavy and bulky too)... In anycase highly recommend it as a fashion phone.
