Product Description Multi-tasking has become a way of life, but sometimes your PC just can't keep up with everything you want to do on it at the same time. The AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core processor enables true multitasking - taking computing to an all new level. Dual-Core technology is like having two processors working together, each one taking care of different applications. So now you can simultaneously burn a CD, check e-mail, edit a digital photo, and run your virus protection - all without slowing down your computer. To protect your computer you've installed all the latest virus protection and firewall software. The result? Your PC is safer but slower. Upgrade to a computer powered by the AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core processor - now you can run protection programs in the background while a second runs the applications you want to work on - making computing fast again.

Athlon 64X2 6400+ Black Edition (Purchased on May112008) June 17, 2008 Xiaochun Chen (California, USA) The seller did great job for shipping on time, excellent service to follow up with customer when we had to return the product due to different requiremnt, also processed refund prompt. If there is opportunity I like to do business with them again. Thanks a lot !!!
Good upgrade, but runs quite hot June 14, 2008 Jeffrey Morse (Oroville CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I enjoy this CPU now that I finally got the heat issues sorted out. And it wasn't cheap to do so. When I first got it I had it in an older Antec case with two 120mm fans and an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro. Idled at 45C, under load ran at up to 65C. Popped for a new Coolermaster Stacker Evo 830 case, two extra fans and a Xigmatek 1283 heatsink/fan. After all that the temps came down to 36-40 idle and 49-52 load. Much better, but bear in mind this 125W chip will need a better than average case (ventilation wise) and hefty HSF to keep in the safe range.
great processor May 20, 2008 Joel Kuttler (Miami, FL - USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
great processor, fast and easy to install. Be advised you will need a top shelf heat sink unit (processor cooler) to cool within acceptable ranges. processor tends to run hot, should be around 42c at idle and + 10c at peak. cannot run past 63c according to amd.
OOOOhh Yeah!!! April 27, 2008 Marty A. Wilson (Collinsville, OK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What can I say! Fast, stable, and a pretty good price. This is the "Black Edition", sooo, it is eminently "overclockable", with the appropriate software. So far, have had it "overclocked" at 3.7 ghz, then "lost my nerve", but was still stable and running quite happily. However, please bear in mind that this model does NOT come with a "stock fan", and, if you are gonna "overclock" it, you are going to need to invest in a VERY good processor fan (or maybe even "water cooling") to help keep it cool and stable. Am currently using a Thermaltake V1, which is HUUGE, and looks kinda like an immense copper/blue led Butterfly, in conjunction with a pair of Antec TriCool 120mm Blue Led Case Fans, and everything is running wonderfully. If you are not interested in 'overclocking", then go for the "standard edition" processor, which is far cheaper, and DOES come with a perfectly acceptable "stock' processor heatsink/fan unit.
