Amazon.com Product Description
Watch movies the way they were meant to be viewed with the MPD820 portable DVD player from Magnavox. This lightweight player features an 8-inch LCD display with a theater-like 16:9 aspect ratio. A rechargeable battery can run the player for up to 3 hours, and you can plug it in anywhere for longer viewings. The MPD820 plays DVDs, CDs, MP3s, and more, so you can bring along all your favorite videos and music.

The screen on the MPD820 is a thin-film transfer (TFT) display that generates clear images without adding unnecessary bulk to the portable player. While you can enjoy movies everywhere you go with the built-in screen, you also can connect the player to any television to watch your DVDs on a bigger screen. The MPD820 features both composite and S-video connections to link the player to another TV.

The MPD820 plays DVDs and CDs (including discs burned on a computer), as well as VCDs. You can also play MP3s from CD-Rs and CD-RWs, and view digital JPEG photos. The MPD820 features built-in stereo speakers and dual headphone jacks for either private or shared listening. For even fuller sound, hook the player up to an audio receiver through the digital optical audio connection to experience rich surround sound.

The MPD820 can go anywhere you go. Use it at home by plugging the player into a wall outlet, or run it in the car with the DC power adapter. After watching a movie, the battery can be quickly and easily recharged with the included charger.

5 out of 5 stars I love my dvd player   March 17, 2007

I purchased this dvd player almost 2 months ago, and am very happy with my purchace. It has a great picture, good optics, good sound, but depending if there are loud noises, you may need headphones. I used my walkman headphones, and they worked just fine. I have a friend with a no name brand, and you can't basically hear it without external speakers, so this was a concern for me. The sound is suffient, at least for the size of the speakers. I can sit a good few feet away and hear it just fine. The charge lasts a really long time. Well, I never played it for more then 3 hours, but the charge still remained. Plus I always charge it up before I store it, and when I plugged the battery back on the machine after a month, it was still fully charged. It comes with a remote which is a nice feature as well. I felt it was a good choice for the money, I am happy with my purchase.

3 out of 5 stars Magnavox DVD Player--UGH!   February 25, 2007

My husband bought me this DVD player for my birthday earlier this month. I fell in love with it. The screen is a great size, picture is crisp and clear, I had these awesome headphones that when plugged into this player made it sound as if I were in a movie theater.

I only give this 3 stars because it just gave out on me 2 weeks after I got it. I thought maybe it was the plug or battery or something but those weren't the issues at all. It was just that the player stopped working. I was extremely disappointed with this.

With a name brand like this I did expect a hell of a lot more than just two weeks of pure enjoyment. Maybe it was just my luck or something.
