Tech Talk Progressive Scan doubles the vertical resolution of the image resulting in a noticeably sharper picture. Instead of sending a field comprising the odd lines to the screen first, followed by the field with the even lines, both fields are written at one time. A full image is created instantaneously, using the maximum resolution. At such a speed, your eye perceives a sharper picture with no line structure. What's in the Box DVD/VCR combo, remote control (with batteries), AV cable, RF cable, printed operating instructions

Excellant Piece of Electronics for the PRICE! September 23, 2007 Christopher C. Coughlin (WA. USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
MY GOD! I cannot believe some of the other reviews for this item! Complaints because it does not have an Eject Button on the remote control?!!! Have we become so bloody lazy in the U.S. that we cannot get off our butt and press the Eject Button on the face of the machine! Give me a break! I purchased my unit earlier this year through Amazon and while it was a little difficult to understand the different functions at first it has worked wonderfully since then. Yes, from time to time it will not switch from DVD to VCR without pressing the VCR Eject Button to re-set the machine, at the US$57.99 I paid for the unit it is a small price to pay. I have owned both Philips and Philips/Magnavox TV's, VCR's and DVD Players since the 1980's and have found them all to be very durable and long lasting if treated with respect. DVD Picture and Sound are fine on this machine and the Picture and Sound on the VCR are really dependant on the tape quality being played or recorded upon. I believe this is an exellent piece for the cost and would recomend it to those looking for an inexpensive DVD/VCR Combo!
Great for Price June 15, 2006 Rhonda N (Guyana, South America) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this DVD in January 2006 and have not regretted to this day. There is the issue of the eject button being absent but then again, when you eject via remote control, you still have to get up to get the DVD out of the player so maybe it is not so necessary to have an eject button. I've had no problems with this player playing my home made DVDs unlike others. It is a bit difficult to set up but besides that it is a great purchase.
