I bought this Philips dvd/vcr combo recorder so I could burn dvds and have a good vcr. I did not know about all of the features that it has. It has a 60sec flash rewind for a T120 vcr tape. The instructions says that it can only record to dvd+r disc but I have a maxell dvd-rw disc and it works fine. I also like the dvd timer. I thought that if i wanted to set the dvd recorder to come on at 8 o clock i would have to set it two minutes early. Well thats not neccessary because the clock sets it self and the player will come on and stand by two minutes before the set time. The player will also let you use the tuner before it starts recording. For example. You have it set at 8 for channel 4, it will come on at 7:58 and turn to channel 4. If you change the channel it will turn back at 8. By the way the tv tuner is the fastest i've ever seen in my life. If you ever wished you could change the channel as fast as you finger will go, well with this one you can. The tuner is so fast,it will be on the channel that you want it on before the numbers on the screen say it.
