Product Description
Stylish hip horror about a california beach community where a gang of toughs is really a nest of vampires. Studio: Warner Home Video Release Date: 09/04/2007 Starring: Jason Patric Jami Gertz Run time: 97 minutes Rating: R Director: Joel Schumacher

This 1987 thriller was a predictable hit with the teen audience it worked overtime to attract. Like most of director Joel Schumacher's films, it's conspicuously designed to push the right marketing and demographic buttons, and granted, there's some pretty cool stuff going on here and there. Take Kiefer Sutherland, for instance. In IStand by Me/I he played a memorable bully, but here he goes one step further as a memorable bully Ivampire/I who leads a tribe of teenage vampires on their nocturnal spree of bloodsucking havoc. Jason Patric plays the new guy in town, who quickly attracts a lovely girlfriend (Jami Gertz), only to find that she might be recruiting him into the vampire fold. The movie gets sillier as it goes along, and resorts to a routine action-movie showdown, but it's a visual knockout (featuring great cinematography by Michael Chapman) and boasts a cast that's eminently able (pardon the pun) to sink their teeth into the best parts of an uneven screenplay. I--Jeff Shannon/I

5 out of 5 stars Sleep all day! Party all night!   October 8, 2008
Slimyboy (Miami, Fl)
THE LOST BOYS is not a comedy yet has many comedy aspects. This film never took itself too seriously but it didn't make fun of itself either. The scary moments, when they come, convey the real horror of life and death without mocking it. The Lost Boys along with a few Vampire Films from the 80's helped establish what we view as the modern Vampire. This film was written by Janice Fischer, James Jeremias and Jeffrey Boam. Directed by Joel Schumacher and starring Kiefer Sutherland, Corey Haim, Corey Feldman, Jason Patric, Brooke McCarter and Dianne Wiest. br / br /A mother takes her 2 sons to California to move in with her father after her recent divorce. The oldest son makes friends with the wrong crowd and the younger makes friends with a couple boys claiming to be Vampire Hunters. Strange murders are happening around the area and the oldest brother learns that he might have been transformed to a vampire by his new found friends. The younger brother must now try and save him along with his new Vampire studying friends. The Lost Boys is a must watch for any horror fan, a Cult Classic! we all know that Vampires Sleep all Day and Party all night! br / br / br /

5 out of 5 stars Bluray Review not movie review   September 9, 2008
Consumer Reports Junkie (Bartlett, IL)
First of all I have to say this is one of the best transfers to bluray I have seen for an 80's movie. Trust me i have seen/own some subpar ones like T2 and Total Recall. I put this movie in and watched it on my 65 plasma and my wife thought it was a newer movie just released thats how good the picture is. I also showed this to some of my friends and they also admitted that the quality on this was jaw dropping for such an old movie. If you like the movie and want to upgrade to a better quality then don't hesitate to buy this one you won't regret it. Also to note those who say the blu ray version is subpar you might wanna adjust your HD settings to make sure you are getting the most out of it. I had my TV on the factory settings and the picture quality on my blurays were pretty disappointing it wasn't until I started reading some of these reviews that I realized the factory settings were not getting the most out of the HD experience.
