Product Description Prepare to be amazed. The future of television entertainment has arrived. The RCA 38" Diagonal HDTV has a widescreen picture that gives you similar proportions to a movie screen - and ten times the resolution of traditional television sets (2, 000, 000 pixels versus 200, 000 pixels). The built-in high-definition decoder and DIRECTV receiver make it easy to begin enjoying television in a whole new way. In addition to the convenience of the F38310, the picture is rich and has accurate color and pinpoint detail.

After 5 years, still works GREAT! May 19, 2008 Carlos M. Stinnette (Baltimore, MD) I guess it is the luck of the draw; after 5 years, it still works GREAT!
br /Yes it is heavy as hell, and I've stayed in apartments longer than I wanted to because of it, but the HD picture is four star (being 720P).

br /Luckly, I had to need to service it to date.
2001 it was ahead of its time March 5, 2008 Islands7 (Central Texas USA) Good stuff - look on eBay for great deals ... except shipping on 90# may be something for FedEx Ground ....
I GUESS I'M ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES March 6, 2006 Sullivan P. Taylor (San Antonio, Texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this TV in August of 2002 and as of this day I have not had a problem with it. What is fustrating is when I moved and DirectTV sent one of their "contractors" out to install the TIVO DVR, they did not understand that the TV had a buitl in reciever. I had to explain this to two different techs. I am now looking for a newer modle with a built in reciever, but can't seem to find one with a slot for a DirecTV card. If anyone can help, drop me an email it would be appreciated.
Very good TV in spite of minor flaws December 5, 2005 Robert W. Grandcolas (Eatontown, NJ United States) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
In spite of the bad reviews - I kept my fingers crossed and brought home this RCA TV.
br /We have had the TV for two years now.I have experienced no problems with it. The negatives -The TV is heavy but no where near as bulky as even the smallest Projection TV.The little fan runs all the time - But we connected the TV through a surge suppressor and turn off the power to the TV when not in use. The tuner is not great - it does not pull in weak stations well - if you have good reception or cable or satellite this is not a problem. The speakers are only OK but if you bought this TV you will be putting your sound through your surround amplifier. So who cares?Your Grandmamma will be confused operating the remote. The positives - The picture is the biggest tube style, windscreen presently out there. The TV has a very good picture with a DVD player. This is 95% of how I use the TV.The TV is small enough to put a cabinet and not uglify your living room like a projection TVs do.The picture is far superior to all the projection TVs I've seen. You can look at it from any angle and it always looks good. The picture tube is practically flat. The picture controls are fairly easy to adjust from the remote but you must read the instructions! There are many different ways to adjust the picture quality to your own taste. There are three different ways to view the picture - wide screen - standard and fill. This is standard operation for wide screen TVs - you presently wont find anything different in the operation of a wide screen TV. This is not a flaw as another reviewer suggested. So far (knock on wood) I am very satisfied that I got the best "tube" TV for the money. Also Circuit City has an extended 5 year guarantee that is well worth it so I sleep pretty well at night. Bottom line - I like it.
