 Bought the Sony SS-CR3000's September 15, 2008

I think I was a little naive prior to this purchase on what I was actually buying. I have since connected the speakers and find they do enhance the overall sound quality of DVD's and TV. The speakers are driven by a Sony STR-DG910; 7.1. I am running some JBL book shelf speakers for the fronts for now. The overall volume is not as loud as I thought it would be. To complete this set up I plan to up the speaker wire size from 18ga to something 14ga or larger. Also plan to add a sub-woofer and maybe some different fronts. That should improve things. Any other ideas?

There probably are better surround-sound speakers out there, but for 100 bucks, what's not to like? The center channel speaker works very well and the surround speakers hang nicely on the wall (speaker wire included, too. Not monster cable, but it'll do for the time being). Overall, a good deal.

If you are looking for a set of great sounding speakers and you don't want to spend a lot of money, look no further. I bought this set to replace my Jensen floorstanding speakers and man was I impressed. They have amazing clarity and sound awesome for both movies and music. They may be small, but they pack one hell of a punch in terms of sound quality. For $100 it is well worth it.

I have this set paired with the SS-B3000 bookshelf speakers. These speakers sound amazing compared to my old speakers. The center channel is crisp and clear. The rear speakers add great depth to movies. I was watching Pirates of the Caribbean 2 to test things out, it's like you're in the movie. I've never experienced that kind of sound before.
EDIT: I just upgraded my receiver to the STR-DG720, even more amazing. These speakers are a match with other Sony products.

Works well - I only needed the center speaker. I wish I could have purchased only the center speaker. What will I do with the left and right speakers? Good performance with the Sony receiver.
