I bought these speakers in an effort to expand the coverage of my existing outdoor sound setup. I had two Insignia speakers which were very inexpensive so I hoped to improve the total sound. Overall I would say they were about the same as the much less expensive Insignia speakers. Not much bass, highs were not as clear as I expected, easy to overdrive. I will be moving them to a small outdoor room where I hope they are not as stressed. They look good, are easy to install and seem high quality. Just wish they sounded better.

I installed these speakers in our downstairs patio. The sound is good, and I like the easy directional adjustment of the speakers. I can quickly have them pointed into the patio area, or, aimed towards the court and pool areas... They are sturdy and have a nice appearance. I believe them to be a good price performer and I would buy them again or recommend them to my friends.

We installed the pair of Atrium 45 all-weather speakers on the outside wall over the deck at our beach home on the Oregon coast. The speakers provide great sound quality - surprisingly so for the relatively low cost. The amount of volume they provide easily serves the area (800 sf) and the quality of sound is excellent for an outdoor application. Time will tell how well they hold up in the salt-air environment but they appear to be at least as well constructed as the much more expensive units they replaced (which lasted more than 5 years) At this price point, I would be satisfied even if they had to be replaced every 3 years. I would definately recommend these speakers.

I purchased these speakers for my backyard swimming pool area. The originals were old and worn out and sounded awful.
br /After installing the Polks, I was disappointed, but realized that it was a long run of wire (about 50 feet), and the wire that the previous owner of the house had installed was of a very thin guage.
br /I rewired the speakers with 14 guage speaker wire and the difference was dramatic. The sound quality is outstanding for such small relatively inexpensive speakers. Don't scrimp on the wire!
