Product Description
Why is it, that from most concert seats the musicians look downright teeny but sound huge? While the seats could be the result of a particularly slimy ticket broker, chances are, the sound is a result of red surrounds with "CVs" on the dust domes. For over 40 years, Cerwin-Vega has filled concert houses and movie houses with bass-blasting sound. Now the company has designed the E-Series to fill your house with the same 125-decibel, wake-the-dead, shake-the-living, big beat. If you want to build a great sounding system, the E-Series offers you building blocks. You can fit a pair of floor standing tower models into your home audio or home theater listening area. And fill the room with 400 very loud watts of pure-pounding Vega bass. Add a pair of compact E-Series bookshelf models and center channel speaker and you get full-surround, gorilla-growling home theater. Quickly, simply, and seamlessly.

Amazon.com Product Description
Play it loud and proud with Cerwin-Vega's E-715 three-way floorstanding loudspeaker. With its massive 15-inch woofer commanding house-rocking authority in the bass department and an amazing 102 dB sensitivity, you're guaranteed dynamic, full-range audio for your favorite music and movies. p The speaker uses three separate drivers optimized for specific frequency bands. In addition to the diecast aluminum cone woofer, the E-715 includes a lightweight, low-mass 5.25-inch midrange cone that renders smooth, clean vocals, and a balanced dome tweeter that offers high sensitivity with protection from thermal overloads. The drivers combine to produce an impressive 26 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and support amplifiers pumping up to 400 watts per channel. p The E-715 is sold as a single speaker, but excels in tandem with a second E-715 for stereo applications. Listeners can also team the speaker with other tonally matched Cerwin-Vegas to build a 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 home theater setup. Add a powered subwoofer to the mix for the ".1" low-frequency effects and you're ready to rock, though the E-715's 26 Hz low-frequency rating delivers plenty of bass even without a subwoofer. As an added bonus, a complete surround sound system will add depth and clarity to such multichannel audio formats as SACD, DVD-Audio, and DTS-CD--none of which require a TV. p Additional features include front-panel acoustic contour controls that help optimize the E-715's output for specific tastes and listening environments; a multi-density cabinet that helps reduce audible distortion and improve tonal accuracy; and a tuned bass-reflex enclosure that produces a full 3 dB bass boost at the tuning frequency. Each E-715 measures 17.5 by 36 by 18.88 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a five-year warranty on parts and labor. p bWhat's in the Box/bbr Single E-715 speaker, user's manual.

I've own these speakers for a year. I'm no big analyst when it comes to rating stereo equipment and speakers (especially the high end stuff like bose) but let me put it to you like this! If you want to feel your music (bass and all) and love to have those "club" type parties (in the privacy of your own home) and would love to have your neighbors complain about your music, get these speakers. These speakers are not for those individuals who like to sit and listen to beethoven all day (no offense!). They are made for people (like me) who love bass, who loves their music loud and loves to feel their music. For anyone looking for that party speaker, these are the ones to purchase. "word of warning: they are heavy speakers!"

These Cerwins are what American muscle cars of the 60's were...powerful and American built-tough !By the obvious cabinet dimensions these are not your college dorm or office bookshelf speakers. In this day and age it is extremely rare to find a floorstanding speaker within the 15" woofer range. With Cewin Vega, size does matter ! The size speaks in volumes (pun intended). If you are looking for that certain high you get from rich bass and booming thunderous effects for overall music and home theatre applications, then look no further or hear no further...The highs are sharp and clear (not soft), though you can adjust this with the speakers built in or onboard volume and frequency adjusting knobs. The best thing about these speakers is that they can be safely driven with 50 watts of amp power to their maximum of 400 watts (always remember that it's actually extremely low wattage power that can damage speakers moreso than if you were to go slightly over). The mids are remarkably astounding for vocals as well. You will also be amazed when using with an actual analog source such as a turntable or hooking an equalizer for a hair raising experience. There are some speakers in this size range or even the 12" range where you have to crank the volume to get somewhat decent sound output(especially, using a turntable---since turntables put out low signals that must be adequately boosted or amplified). Cerwin Vega speakers love to reproduce the audio signal from a turntable with ease ! That's what most of these CV speaker designs were primarily meant for before digital formats came out! br / br /However, these are NOT to be confused for audiophile high end grade speakers that produce accurate sound or subtle and delicate nuances. Most audiophile speakers have a soft to natural or neutral sounding and warm quality. These Cerwin Vegas are NOWHERE near sounding soft and subtle. If you use these for strictly classical music applications you will be disappointed. The Cerwins produce a much colored and somewhat exaggerated sound quality. Afterall, this particular bulky and massive speaker design was or is originally meant to be used as DJ club speakers. Keep in mind that you must have the room and large space to really take full advantage of the earthshaking and crisp sound quality these beauties can produce in your home ! They are very musical sounding in the loud partying-dance floor sense than the Mozart listening classical sense. One miniscule gripe is that I wish Cerwin Vega would have offered these in the optional walnut/cherry grain that similar models of the past used to come in ! br / br /If you want these just for a helluva listening and fun experience, and are not looking to be critical or analytical, then you can't go wrong with the E715's.These perform their best in a well sound insulated and carpeted room with thick shades or drapes on the windows (it's annoying to hear exposed windows vibrate) ! I also recommend removing or securing collectibles, breakables, and family framed pictures as the bass frequency on these go pretty low and will literally move, vibrate, and chatter (not shatter) the heck out of them (from my experience, wall hanging framed artwork or collectible plates are highly susceptible---seriously, no joke---you don't wanna hear unnecessary vibrating noises that will ruin your listening pleasure)!
