Amazon.com Product Description Measuring just under an inch thick and weighing a mere 5.5 ounces, this Panasonic personal CD player is a great fit whether you're working out at the gym, commuting on the train, or listening at home in the bedroom. The cover boasts a sleek, high-tech appearance that's complemented by a matching remote, which lets listeners control the device with their thumbs while exercising. More significantly, the CD player plays more than just audio CDs, with compatibility for both CD-R/RW discs and compressed MP3 files burned onto a CD-R/RW. The expanded playback options give users access to far more of their digital music library each time they leave the house. Active users will also appreciate the anti-skip protection and its related backup memory function, which combine to ensure a disruption-free listening experience even while jogging or driving. p At the core of the SL-CT520's audio performance is Panasonic's advanced D.sound technology, which comprises four main components: a digital amplifier that reduces distortion for a clearer overall sound; the bass-enhancing capacity of S-XBS super bass boost and the digital audio gain control; and an MP3 remastering function that restores much of the lost fidelity of compressed MP3 audio files. The system also includes six equalizer presets to further enhance the audio experience, and features such playback options as 20-track programming (track or disc), repeat play, and random play. p Also impressive is the CD player's extra-long playback times, which extend up to 155 hours for MP3s and 86 hours for CDs. To enjoy the full times, merely pop a pair of AAA alkaline batteries in the main compartment and a pair of AA alkalines in the included external battery case. The device also comes with a pair of Panasonic's WrapIt stereo headphones. p bWhat's in the Box/bbr CD player, remote control, WrapIt headphones, external battery case, warranty, user's manual.

Panasonic CD player October 12, 2008 Phyllis Wurst (Lincoln, CA) I am very happy with my purchase of a Portable Panasonic CD player. It is just like the one that I own that no longer works. So it didn't take me time to adjust to a new model. I like that it is slim, and doesn't jump the music when moved in any direction. br /Thanks
Good but... November 30, 2006 Eduardo Nietzsche (Houston) ...a little pricey compared to the more bare-bones CT480 model, though the sound quality is about the same if not a little inferior due to the 480's big bulky and ugly but very nice-sounding headphones. br / br /The main advantage of of this model is the cool silver looks and the external battery pack which is a pain to lug around but would come in handy for example during a long plane trip. If you don't need the extra bells and whistles, I'd recommend getting the 480. br / br /The digital amp technology however really does provide stellar sound quality compared to comparably priced portable CD players, in fact it was better than my sister's $80 Sony. It looks like Panasonic has taken some of the technology from its incredible sa-xr55/57 home audio receivers and put it into the portable CD scale...thank you, Panasonic!!!
awkward to use November 3, 2006 D. Mitrevski (Rochester, NY) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a middle of the road CD/MP3 player. I purchased this player for my gym workouts, and it's been a little dissapointing. I will start off by saying that the sound is great, cd's don't skip, no problems with performance. My complaint is really with the design. The battery unit, in an exterior case, makes the player awkward to put on a treadmill or epilitical trainer, frequently causing the player to fall. The controls on the player are on the side, and very difficult to read. The player does have a digital read-out along with the MP3, but you really can't read it during a work-out because it's attached to your clothing. The other problem I've had is interchanging headphones. Most are not compatible with the MP3 player, and without that MP3/digital read out plug in, the player doesn't work.
