Amazon.com Product Description Unleash the full potential of your iPod, portable MP3 player, CD player, or TV with the Music Sphere wireless speaker system. Consisting of a portable wireless speaker and a separate transmitter, the Music Sphere lets you listen to your favorite music in almost any room in the house regardless of where your audio source is located. The audio range extends to 100 feet, so you have plenty of location options, including on the back patio or in the garage. Or you can simply take the speaker to the other side of the room without worrying about cumbersome cables or a complicated setup. And thanks to the transmitter's sophisticated 2.4 GHz frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) technology and the speaker system's three-driver array (two tweeters and a subwoofer in a high-quality acoustic chamber), the audio comes through crystal clear, with no interference and a smooth, powerful sound. p In addition, the transmitter connects to as many as three independent audio sources at once. Want to listen to your iPod without disconnecting from the DVD player or the stereo amp? No problem, as the Music Sphere's two line-in jacks and RCA left/right input keep you fully connected. Even more impressively, the Music Sphere is equipped with remote "learning" and "repeat" functions. This lets you both control the speaker functions through a connected source's remote while also controlling the source itself through the speaker. In other words, you won't need to trudge across the house to increase the volume or skip tracks--just point the CD player's remote at the speaker and you're set. p Listeners will also appreciate the Music Sphere's adjustable bass and treble controls, along with the three-color LCD display with indicators for clock, volume, bass and treble levels, input selection, and battery levels. The display even changes color based on which source is currently playing. Additional features include a built-in clock, a wall-mount bracket for the speaker, and a total power output of 6 watts (1.5 watts x 2, plus 3-watt subwoofer). p The speaker, which measures 8 by 7.4 by 7.7 inches (W x H x D), runs for approximately five days on six C-size batteries (assuming around four hours of operation per day). The transmitter, meanwhile, checks in at 4.5 by 4.2 by 4.5 inches. The entire system is backed by a one-year warranty. p bWhat's in the Box/bbr Wireless speaker, transmitter, two AC adapters (one each for speaker and transmitter), Y audio cable, wall-mount bracket, four screws, allen key, lint-free cloth, warranty card, quick-start guide, user's manual.
Product Description Music Sphere employs 2.4 GHz wireless digital audio technology to wirelessly play back and control up to three different audio sources, 100' away from the source. If you can get one, you'll be happy with it. August 22, 2008 Crit_Zer0 (Dallas, Texas United States) This little ball of joy has been one of the best electronics investments I have made! br /I bought it to make it easier to move music throughout my house while remodeling. Hooked it up to either my iPod or iTunes and just carried it to the room being worked on. No more CDs getting drywall dust on 'em. br /I took this to the ranch where we got married, and this became the pool/bar/living room entertainment, always controlled from my brother's laptop inside the house. br /The sound is great for a single unit. Heck, it's better than the Sony jambox it replaced (MegaBass notwithstanding). br /The only issue I see ... do they still make it? I thought about buying one as a gift, but it is not even available on their website (listed at $99, FWIW). I got mine from Woot a couple years ago, so I fear they may have discontinued it.
Excellent Wireless Speaker August 21, 2007 David R. Morgan I've tried several wireless speakers in the past, but none can compare with the Oregon Scientific speaker. Somehow I lost the instruction booklet so I had a hard time figuring out how to get it operational. Once it was going, it provided an excellent sound, fine reception, and a cool three-color clock face. Its odd shape makes it a bit difficult to tote around, but overall it's fine product.
Great when they work August 1, 2007 lungshou 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Good product when it works, good sound, cool design, easy to set up. Maybe I am having interference problems like some of the others posters. It comes on all the time but won't pick up the signal, even when next to the transmitter, unless it is in the mood. Often comes back if you plug/unplug it a few times.
