5 out of 5 stars Excellent   October 4, 2008

Bought the radio right before Hurricane Ike ... Sure glad I had it when we were out of electricity for a few days and things got a little crazy. I would recommend buying a PC USB to radio power connector to charge up the battery ... to get a lot of radio play you will have to crank for quite a while to charge up the battery. The small radio construction and sound quality is excellent.

This is a great little radio. It does everything it promises to do. I think it's a must to have in case of an emergency.

This radio is good for the price. The rechargeable battery works good with the USB, but the hand crank way of charging is not that good. The radio will not hold a charge that long using the crank method. I have not tried the solar charge method but it appears to be OK based on previous reviews. The radio looks nice, feels solid, and is small but the right size. It is built solid and feels like it is of good quality for $30.00. The reception is good on both the AM and FM. The weather stations come in good where I am located at which is in the mountains. The LED flashlight is good and bright with 3 LEDS. Overall a good purchase and would recommend to anybody.

5 out of 5 stars Recieves well, great buy!   August 12, 2008

Had my doubts when I ordered as we live in a very fringe area surrounded by mountains. Was very pleased to find this little radio pulled in stations as well or better than our larger, more expensive receivers. Also, the Noaa station comes in very clear and at times can get 3 stations.

I found that I get much more than an hour of listening for 90 seconds of cranking. And the light lasts very very long. Also, the solar cell requires very little sunlight to power the radio.

If I had one critique, it would be the very small tuning knob, making it a little difficult to fine tune stations. But this is not used in emergencies as the Noaa stations are tuned in by the selector switch.

All in all, a great purchase. We plan to get another one to keep in car.
