Great Little Player August 10, 2008

PROS: not an ipod; vibrant screen; great internal features; easy to use br / br /CONS: horrible software; doesn't come with many extras; annoying to charge br / br / I chose this mp3 player because it was cheap, red, and not an ipod. I wasn't expecting to be blown away by the amazing screen quality, and the easy-to-use internal features. This player has great features like a radio, unlimited space when you insert a sim card, easy to use menus, and so much more. I use this every day, and it keeps getting better and better. But it's not all sunshine and roses. I would recommend that you use itunes software instead of the evil zen disc that comes with the player. The creative software ate my computer for breakfast, and crashed the zen player for dessert. I learned through many online forums that the new itunes software is compatible with most mp3 players so I use that, and I've also heard that many Creative customers use the windows media player software in lieu of the disc that comes with the player. Also included in the box is a pair of cheap mini headphones, but I upgraded to a pair of bose headphones and they make watching movies on the player SO much better. Unlike other more expensive mp3 players out there, this one doesn't come with or have many extras that are compatible. I could only find two sturdy cases, and Creative only makes one VERY expensive wall charger that is compatible with this player. This player is charged through your computer (which I found to be VERY annoying), and it comes with a teeny (about 4 inches long) USB cord. I recently purchased a male-to-female USB extension cord, and a USB wall charger to by-pass the charging problem. br / Overall, it's a great, inexpensive player that will last for a couple of years. The only other problem I have with it is the battery is non-replaceable. Once it dies, you have to buy a new player. But you'll probably want a new mp3 player by the time the battery dies anyway.
