Amazon.com Product Description When accuracy matters, the Canon EF 50mm standard lens steps to the plate. The lens offers two high-refraction lens elements and new Gaussian optics, helping eliminate astigmatism and suppress astigmatic differences. As a result, the lens provides an image that's extremely close to how your eye perceives a subject, making it excellent for portraits and images that require a natural depth of field. The lens even delivers crisp images with little flare at the maximum aperture. Compact and affordable, the EF 50mm is the only lens in the EF system to offer the extra-small Micro USM while still providing full-time manual focusing. As with all Canon lenses, the EF 50mm carries a one-year warranty. - Focal length: 50mm

Fantastic lens October 7, 2008 Ms.Aysha (Dubai) The Canon EF 50mm F/1.4 is a fantastic lens! I love using it when shooting products, though I don't like using it for portraits, I prefer my 85mm f/1.2 to do that job, but overall this is a great lens and it's every photographers favorite and worth owning.
FABULOUS LENSE October 1, 2008 Lissi G (Miami, FL USA) I can't say enough great things about this lense. I have 2 Canon L Series lenses that cost 6 times as much as this one. This lense provides equal quality to all of them. Unbelieve price for such a great lense.
Excellent lens September 18, 2008 Senimore (Fort Lee, NJ USA) This lens is exactly what I was looking for: FAST, LIGHT, gives SHARP IMAGES. It worth every buck what I paid !!!
does what I hoped September 7, 2008 P. Geis 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Looking for a way to take low-light indoor shots without flash, I considered the much more expensive Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L USM Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras, and if money were no object, that would have been my choice. Maybe someday. For now, I'm very happy with the results this is giving me -- and I'll just have to cope with zooming in and out by adjusting my feet!
Excellent Portrait Lens September 3, 2008 E. Molina 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an awesome lens that has elevated the level of my pictures. The pictures are just amazing. I am currently using this with my Canon Xsi. It is well worth the price.
