Product Description HAZE UV (0) absorbs the ultraviolet rays, which often make outdoor photographs hazy and indistinct. It is a multi-purpose fine-weather filter for color as well as black and white films. It also serves as a permanent lens protector.

The Name Fits September 9, 2008 D. Lantz (Bend, OR USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Yes, the name SUPER fits this filter. Crystal clear glass. Does a great job on hazy days. Used on my Canon 40D. Highly recommended.
Great filters for the price April 27, 2008 T. Tom (SF Bay Area, CA United States) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've been using these filters on all of my lenses and like them a lot for the price. I believe they perform just as well as more expensive filters from Hoya and other manufacturers. Unless you need a slim filter, there doesn't appear to be any reason to spend more. br / br /Be sure you get the Super HMC model as it's way better (and multi-coated) than the HMC model.
good price and quality November 11, 2007 Benjie Urbina (IL., USA) 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
Hoya filters, i settled for this one on my 72mm ring Canon 50mm f/1.2L just because i had B+W 77mm's UV and CPL, no need to buy a B+W 72mm just for the 50 prime, so i bought this as a front lens element protector and bought a filter step-up ring from B+W to use the 77mm's in special shoots. br / br /build quality is good, UV filter performance is hard to compare, the price is very good compared to B+W. And it's also Multi-Coated. br / br /If you only need a couple of filters, you might want to buy the best your money can afford, for me, the list of filters are more than what i really need, so i just bought this for lens protection.
Good but very fragile.. August 21, 2007 Marian Burnett 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
As per the title, this filter is great. The clarity is nice and it adds an extra layer of protection for your lens. My only complaint is that the coating is very very fragile and can get nicked off quite easily.
as advertised December 30, 2006 Anonymous 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
Looking through it with the naked eye reveals no distortions or imperfections. This is a genuine multi-coated UV filter (test this by looking at a reflection of a light source on its surface: a perfect reflection indicates no coating, a dim reflection indicates a single coating, and a green reflection indicates multiple coatings). Multiple coatings yield greater light transmission through the glass, and less glare, but (and this affects all multi-coated filters from all companies) also pick up dust, fingerprints, and condensation very easily (just holding it on the metal ring with your fingers causes condensation from your perspiration).
