Amazon.com Product Description
This modern clock radio is a step above the clock radios of the past. For starters, the radio updates its time automatically from the U.S. atomic clock in Boulder, Colorado. While this may force you to work or school on time, the benefits of a constantly updated timepiece are critical in this fast-paced world. The radio even adjusts itself automatically for daylight saving time. The illuminated LCD screen gives you vital information, including: time, date, day of week, sleep, wake times, naptime, and radio information. With the gentle wake option, you can choose for the radio's volume to start low and slowly build over time. The AM/FM radio has fourteen presets for individual programming. The clock radio also features an automatic preset system which scans and memorizes available radio stations. With the two alarms you can set wake-up times on the same or different days of the week. The sleep timer is a nice feature for those who use the radio as a sleep aid. There is a headphone jack for people who want to listen to the radio without bugging the person besides them. The clock radio's color is silver and its styling is modern and sleek. p bWhat's in the Box/bbr Clock radio and user's manual.

4 out of 5 stars Dual alarm clock   November 30, 2008
Elizabeth A. Snyder (NYC)
This is a nice clock radio with many features. br / br /The main problem with it is that I can't seem to do a thing without the instruction manual. Setting the alarm time is quite a production number. If you get confused or frustrated by messing about with buttons, you will not like this product. If you don't mind patiently perusing the manual when you want to set the alarm, then it really is pretty nice. It looks great on my dresser, and it gets really good reception.

5 out of 5 stars Best Clock Radio... EVER!!!   November 8, 2008
J. Longtine (Ostrander, OH USA)
This is undoubtedly the best clock radio I've ever owned. I've had it now for two years and it is easy to use and reliable. br / br /Atomic Clock - I never have to set the time. It synchronizes with an atomic clock every evening. If the power goes out, it automatically resets itself. br / br /Radio - Digital tuner brings in good reception. We live out in the sticks; so, we need a good receiver. Receives more stations than any radio in the house (with the exception of our Onkyo Dolby 5.1 tuner). br / br /Dual Alarms - You can set two alarms to go off at different times and on different days. Each alarm can be set for any combination of SMTWTFS. You can also assign a different radio station to each alarm. br / br /Backlight - The display backlight can be turned off if the light bothers you. Guess what... the light comes on when the alarm turns on. br / br /Snooze - No fumbling snooze. You can pretty much hit any button on the top and it will snooze. br / br /Ergonomic design - I thought the "tubes" on the left and right side were strange at first. Then I was groping, half blind, for the buttons and I realized that the "tubes" make it easy to push the firm buttons. Your fingers wrap around this feature so that your thumb can press the button. br / br /Big display, automatically adjusts for daylight savings, displays the date... and more. br / br /The only thing that I wish it had is a battery backup. If the power is out when you need to get up, then no alarm. If the power comes back on... no worries, it automatically resets the time and retains the alarm setting. br / br /My wife thinks I'm crazy. I've been telling her, "This is the best alarm clock." every two months or so since I bought it.

3 out of 5 stars Convenience at a price   October 30, 2008
Larry Weiss (FL United States)
It takes a while to program this clock radio. You set up the time you want to wake up each day of the week, then never have to touch it except to turn it off in the morning, which is convenient. The problem is that if you should want to change the time for any given day it seems a bit complicated to silence or change it for that day. The button to shut off the alarm at wakeup time is easily located for me. The lighted screen is impossible for me to see without my glasses. I solved that by buying a large-letter alarm clock which I have placed next to it. My new setup is far more expensive than the Radio Shack clock radio that I used for years. I could see the time and it was easy to change my wakeup time but I had to remember to set it at night.

3 out of 5 stars Good but could be better   August 17, 2008
Michael Dunning (Bristol,Pa.)
The radio plays well. It also was easy to set up. The angle to view the time display has to be "dead on" with the face of the clock. Any other angle and the display washes out. Also you can not turn off the alarm if you chose to,without resetting it. Mike

5 out of 5 stars Thanks, Sangean   June 18, 2008

My husband and I had several requirements to replace our 12 year old Panasonic alarm -- dual alarms, no CD or tape player, AM/FM radio with pre-set buttons, etc. This alarm clock filled all of the requirements, and we are pretty pleased with it. I was dubious about the orange display, but I actually like it a lot better than our old green one. The sound quality is pretty good, and it is smaller than I imagined it would be. My three complaints about this product: br /1. The user manual was not very intuitive -- it was all pictures instead of descriptions, which I'd rather not pore over teeny labels to figure out what button is the snooze button br /2. The snooze button is sort of small and weirdly placed br /3. The atomic clock doesn't seem to get reception where I am -- an urban area br /Otherwise, we really like this clock, and I would buy it again. It cost slightly more than I'd anticipated paying, but I think that it was worth the extra money.
