Great product for the price August 24, 2008 Jess (Atlanta, GA) As a person who is not all that tech savvy, I was very intimidated when it came to shopping for an MP3 player. I had seen the problems that other people had. One thing I knew for sure was that I did not want an Ipod since most of my music files are WMA. So it was important for me to find a player that supported all of my files. I tried that converting thing once and it was a mess!! I took this player out of the box and plugged it in my computer and it immediately began to sync with Window Media Player. That was it. Nothing complicated..just the way I like it. It plays perfectly and I've had no problems. I am not all that interested in the video component of the player at this point so I haven't really used it (which is why I only gave 4 stars). I just wanted something that would play my music for me on my upcoming beach trip and this one is perfect thus far.
Excellent FM Radio August 13, 2008 KS (Philadelphia, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Actually bought this player mainly for the FM radio. Radio reception and sound quality are excellent. Equalizer works for both mp3 and radio. Radio presets easy to scroll through, just press forward or back button. I believe it has 20 presets, which is way more than enough. Previously used Sony analog walkman for years because it had the best sound quality, even though it was inexpensive. Was looking for an inexpensive mp3 player with digital radio, but could not find a good one until now. Closest was the Sansa E series but the equalizer did not apply to the radio, only mp3, and the sound was flat and muffled.
BEST DEAL OUT THERE August 12, 2008 Syriac (North East, USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't have much time to elaborate about this product but all I can say it's the best out there in temrs of ease of use. What makes it more perfect is that you dont need special software or format to use the product.. It uses the basic mp3, wma formats which are pretty much universal.. makes life easier... Sony needs to do a better job promoting this product... I discoved by accident because I was looking for deal and when I was interested in buying ZUNE/IPOD it seems to me the new models and the corresponding were not compatible with my windows version.... I had to do a bunch of downloads based on other reviews I read... the top of the end sony models are about the same price as top end IPOD/ZUNE models with lesss storage space...that's the only down side... I believe once Sony does some good marketing and more people starts purchasing these models... They will make them with more storage which in turn will make it a way better product with better value than IPOD/ZUNE.... Hope this is helpful
Strongly recommend trying it out - almost guarranteed you'll love it! July 30, 2008 B. Wolf (West Chester, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just wanted to add in the fact that the radio reception on this was awesome compared to the Creative Zen. I had the zen for all of 5 hours and then took it back because I really like all the other features but this one has great reception compared to any I've seen out there. Also - the video quality and interface is very easy to familiarize yourself with it. One thing that I was initially unsure of was that I normally used itunes to put things on my nano but then when I got this and you set it up you can drag pictures right into the directories just like you would on any other disk. The way that you get the coverflow and songs/music/videos on it can easily be synch'd with Windows Media Player 11 that they recommend. I strongly recommend that if you have a chance go to a tech department store that sells them and try it out I bought it after having a Ipod Nano, Creative Zen & now this! It's cheaper and very very happy with it. I doubt anyone that buys it will have any true quarrels to pick with it. (Only thing that I really liked with the Creative Zen that this one doesn't have is the ability to "delete" songs from it - that would help get rid of songs that you really don't want on it but when I add a ton of songs from my computer there are bound to be a few that could be put to the recycling bin with no problem! Strongly recommend trying it out.
