Sounds Right
Typical Klipsch sound with good mounting options. Looks good on the wall(space needed because there big). Does the job easily. Make sure you hit a stud if wall mounting(butterflies and hollow wall anchors won't due).

I have been looking at these speakers (and the S-2 as well) for a while (I never found any better though the Bic PL-66 were intriguing), and all of a sudden these dropped below $200 (and the S-2), so I was compelled to take the plunge. A few days later, they arrived double-boxed and in perfect condition. After a few minutes they were upon the wall using the included keyhole flush mount. Like others have said: they are rather large and heavy. This is how they're able to create a wide range of frequencies and do so very efficiently. They also a dedicated surround speakers, not merely bookshelf speakers that go behind the listener, and because of this, they create a broad sound field that not only envelops the listener but also provides directional sound.

br /While a part of the Synergy series, I added these to my Infinity Studio Monitor towers and BIC America FH6-LCR Dual 6.5-Inch 175-Watt LCR Speaker with Mid/High Frequency Horn in the center. While not a perfectly matched setup, the Bic center channel shares Klipsch's horn-loaded tweeter design and all are highly efficient (measured in DB of sensitivity). You really can't go wrong with any of Klipsch's speakers, and these are no different. Don't wait long, as the dramatically low prices may not be here to stay and the speakers may be going away too (doubtlessly replaced by another solid design).

The Klipsch S-3's complete my home theater setup. Yes, they are large, especially for our room, 11' x 18.' They do, however, provide a much larger sweet spot of sound than the Sony speakers I bought quite a while ago. Having decided to go with separates about 2 years ago, I thought I would never be able to put together a complete Klipsch speaker system. $1300 later(plus $400 for a receiver), I have assembled a remarkable sound/speaker system that makes my friends envious and anxious to come over and watch dvd concerts.

br /I recommend you review your resources, dedicate a substantial portion for speakers, and buy Klipsch.

These are excellent quality speakers--easy order, fast delivery, well packed (they are really heavy, get the delivery guy to bring them in the house).

I purchased a 7.1 THX receiver, the C-3, the F-3s, and these. I must say I am quite impressed, they are awesome speakers. Only thing i need now is a good sub to go along with it.
