5 out of 5 stars Strategy lovers- buy this game   July 21, 2008
Max
An extremely fun (albeit difficult) game, that not only forces you to find good combinations and formations of ship types and numbers, but also forces you to think in 3 dimensions.

5 out of 5 stars Homeworld 2 is a awesome game.   July 3, 2008

This is a awesome game and it came really fast. I'm so glad I got it.

5 out of 5 stars A Milestone In Gaming   June 9, 2008

An easy to play and very intuitive game experience. It is an old one but I had to revisit this classic. A compelling story and far ahead of its time real time combat throws you into space warfare on a grandscale.

Recommended for those who want to pick up or relive gold moments in gaming history as one might with Starcraft, Diablo etc.

4 out of 5 stars Thumbs up !   May 8, 2008

I really like this game. The price was great. I do wish i had did a little more research i might have sprung for the Sins of a Solar Empire which is made by the same people but even more game play. Might want to check both out. I still like my choice and I will wait for the price of the new game to come down a bit. The mail was a little slow but i did get my package ok. Amazon is the way to buy with gas going up. P.S. Works with Vista 64 bit Ultimate OS. Recomend downloading patch (homeworld2_update_en_10_11).

4 out of 5 stars Space-based strategy for lesser PC's   April 23, 2008
Michael Kreisbuch (PA/NJ, USA)
The genre of space-based strategy simulation is one particular area that has not recently received much attention. The arrival of "Sins of a Solar Empire" for Windows Vista is rather recent, but pretty advanced for some computers. Homeworld 2 offers quite a lot of fun for an inexpensive package.

Despite Homeworld 2's limited application in single-player campaign gameplay, mods such as "Complex" add tons of breadth to the game and really flush out its characteristics. Although I have not played the original Homeworld, and therefore cannot judge the sequel based on its predecessor, I can say that there is rarely a dull moment in this game. The customizability of ship badges was a nice touch, as is the ability to adjust the color scheme of your fleet.

However much fun the game is, I cannot give it a full score due to its short single-player campaign and the limited amount of races playable. While these are the results of the storyline that was created for the game, I believe that it could have been expanded to three or even four races and made a much more competetive and open-ended game. Still, for such a low price, this game was a great bargain and it is sure to stay on my hard drive!
