| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The JBL Duet speaker system provides smooth and accurate sound for any portable music player or computer. Duet uses patent pending Tangential Strain Relief (TSR) technology. With TSR you get extra bass and lower distortion. The neodymium magnet creates more power and sensitivity. Duet also uses a proprietary port design which enhances the bass performance.

| Customer Reviews:
Fidelity, and not much else. November 1, 2009 M. Slimmer (Illinois) I have grown to like these speakers but they are not without their flaws. The volume control/power know is terribly designed, the styling is questionable, and bass response is mediocre. The amount of sound output for the size is good and the fidelity at high volumes is even alright. Overall, I would recommend them if space limitations prevent using a 2.1 system but the "bang for the buck" factor is rather low on these speakers.
Great value--you won't be disappointed! October 18, 2009 Bud Moeller (McLean, VA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I did a little research on some plug-in speakers for my desktop and these seemed to have good reviews and a very reasonable price. They came, I plugged them in, and they're wonderful! I have an iMac with the aluminum surround and the speakers match it perfectly.
Can't ask for more October 16, 2009 Anjan Michael Vincent (Dearborn, MI USA) The speakers reached me in good time, in good shape and well packaged. I was very anxious to find out if they would be afflicted with the dreaded "buzzing" that people here have complained about, but thankfully, no such issues at all... let's hope that this is one quality defect that JBL have learnt of and fixed by design.
br /The sound quality is more than what I would normally expect from 2 tiny speakers such as these, and even though i'm not obsessed with bass... it does a good job all the same. More than sufficient for filling up a small room, and the reproduction of sound is nothing you would complain about.
br /They look good, they sound good and I think I bought it at a fair price, so there we go!
All I can say is, meh. October 15, 2009 Steve Swanson (Earth) Pros
br /- Inexpensive (at least at Amazon)
br /- Stylish looking (especially if you have an aluminum Mac)
br /- Decent sound

br /Cons
br /- The volume knob. Sweet mother of pearl, that thing is HARD to turn! It isn't that it's stiff, it's that it's slippery and doesn't provide enough grip. You can't turn it off without using both hands, and even turning it up and down isn't as simple as it should be. Very poor design on JBL's part.
br /- I was not familiar with the concept of shielding, but I get what people are talking about now. These speakers snap crackle and pop any time my cellphone is near it. I didn't have this problem when I was on Sprint, but it sure as has heck does it now that I'm on ATT.

br /I got these speakers because I wanted them to match my desktop setup (I know, I know, but I'm a designer so it was important to me) and because they supposedly sounded good. They sound good enough for the money, but when you factor in that they aren't shielded, yikes. Not a good thing. If you aren't on ATT and you can find these speakers on the cheap, then I'd suggest putting them in your short list. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
Best computer speakers out! October 11, 2009 Costa Manos (Texas, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been looking for a quality pair of computer speakers for quite some time now. After reading about the JBL speakers, and going by the reviews, I decided to buy the speakers without ever hearing them. It's true!!! These speakers produce a full bodied, well mixed, and totally satisfying sound generated directly from my computer. The sound coming out of these small but elegant speakers blow other high value, high profile speakers out of the water. The comments others made about using two hands to turn the volume control knob are true. However, it takes so little energy and effort this should not even be a consideration. Don't wait... buy a pair. You won't be disappointed.
