Tried a lot of subs in the last few years, some cheap, some not so cheap, so far this is the best.
I have a medium listening area, and listen to a lot of music, and this sub fills the room with clean, tight bass at low volumes, and will shake the walls at higher volumes when you need it (it freaked the kids out during Jurassic Park III)!
While not quite an audiophile, I have a good ear for good audio, and for the money, you will not be disappointed.

Infinity ps12 (Great sub, way to big for room)
Athena As-4000 (10 inch, suprisingly horrible)
Velodyne vrp-1000 (just ok)
Yamaha sw215 (nice for the money)
Kenwood psw10 (not sure if i was using it right, died early)

Picked this up last week and can't get over the full, rich bass. It's a perfect compliment for my 7.1 system. As a favor for the rest of my building I usually power it down and save it for movies.
I OWN THIS VELODYNE SUBWOOFER. THE SUB IS VERY POWERFUL WILL KNOCK YOU OUT OF YOUR CHAIR UNLESS YOU ARE DANCING October 28, 2005

THIS UNIT HAS VERY GOOD SOUND AND MATCHES WELL WITH MOST SPEAKERS .THIS UNIT HAS 5 SOUND PRESETS -MOVIE ROCK JAZZ CLASICAL AND FLAT.YOU WILL HAVE ALOT OF FUN WITH THIS SUB,EVERYONE WILL KNOW YOU HAVE A GREAT HOME THEATER. 5 STAR RATING GEE AN EARTHQUAKE IN NEW YORK. WOW
