A great, great sub. But it may be more than you need. This monster is heavy, and really throws some air! Really, tight, accurate production. The preset soundfields are useful, but only if you a novice. The remote is a must have. The self-adjusting acoustic process is easy and very useful. The room I have mine is very acoustically strange, and this sub did a great job, an easy to notice job, of adjusting to it.
You can actually buy this for between 1200 and 1300 elsewhere, but watch for variable shipping rates, and for whether or not the place is a certified dealer of Velodyne, if these issues matter to you. If you really don't need this much power, consider a model in this series like the 800. This one may be overkill.
