The actual Zhu Zhu hamsters are adorable, but most of the accessories are cr*p. They fall apart very easily and are not worth the money. . . You spend most of your time clicking the pieces back together again. This ball seems to hold up (and stay together) the best out of all of them, but if you can talk your kids out of wanting them you will be doing yourself a favor!

It is what it is...it is a cute little ball for the zhu zhu pet to roll around in...my daughter has fun chasing it around the house and it amuses our dogs too.

My boyfriend walked in the other day with a "surprise" for me. Lo and behold the Wal-mart by his workplace had these in stock so I guess I get to review something besides the hamsters. :D

br /First off the ball isn't the sturdiest and with a bit of pressure to the right area you can pop off the lid, it screws right back on though. Also if the batteries are low it won't run too well so change them first.

br /they give you a stability plate with the hamster, but honestly I found that it moved better and flipped over less without it. It moves like you'd expect, bumbles around, pauses then runs some more, it's cute I have to admit, but the sounds are dampened by the ball. It kind of sounds like it's in a tin can. Every now and then it may flip over in the ball, though nudge it and it's quickly corrected.

br /If you already have the hamsters it's probably worth the extra ten dollars to get the ball. I wouldn't buy it at any marked up price but it is cute and functions as well as expected. Just keep it away from dogs. Mine has launched a war against this thing.
