Driver mounting...

Liking to kick around half baked ideas, I thought I'd toss this one out.

In a number of speaker designs I've seen for sealed and ported enclosures when multiple drivers are used they brace them against one another. This usually includes a wood brace wedged between the magnet structures of opposed drivers.

Since a number of the IB enclosures that I have seen have drivers facing one another I wondered if 8 threaded rods running from driver to driver (through the mounting holes) with nuts and locking washers would accomplish the same thing as the braces mentioned above.

There are a number of variations on this theme that could be tried, with the goal being keeping the manifold as rigid as possible.

What do the folks who have built IB's think of this idea?

BTW this is just an intellectual exercise for me as I have no place to put an IB.
