I think what Darren and I were seeing is the front part... not the actual part the drivers mount too. However, that part will be connected to the front. I'm sure Rodny has already thought of a way to attach it securely so that there will be no resonating issues.
Rodny has done some amazing installs in cars (including mine), trucks, boats (serious boats) and continues to amaze me with his home.
I betcha that material is trunk liner.
