I demo'ed the HDA1 for a couple of months and thought the picture was slightly better at times but the sound on most of the DVDs was simply not as good as standard DVDs. Unfortunately, I had to use the HDA1's 5.1 multichannel outs since my pre/pro did not carry multichannel over HMDI. Once my Halcro SSP100 is updated with multichannel HDMI, I plan to give Blue Ray a try. For now, I am advising my layman customers to stay with a standard DVD player until the landscape becomes clearer.
