It is not terribly hard to do. As far as splicing wires, the only thing you have to do is connect the wires coming out of the new stereo to the wires on the adapter you buy, then plug it in. I prefer to buy these
connectors to cleanly and securely connect the wires.
I would say the hardest part is getting the factory stereo out, and mounting the new stereo.
I will never have a stereo installed, one because I think I can do a better job and will take more time to do it right, and two because unless it's free it cost too much.
