| Re: Crown XTI-2000 Hi, I just bought a Crown XTI-2000 power amp. I love this amp! it sounds excellent, much more dynamic than my Onkyo M504 power amp. The low end is also much tighter. The fans on this amp have not come on once. Crown claims they won't kick in till the heat sinks reach 150 degrees. After 4 hours of hard playing the heat sink temps reached 122 degrees! If they do come on they will only spin at the speed needed to cool the amp, then shut down again. I'm very happy so far. I have no hum or buzz the amp is very quite.*My question is why don't more people buy these pro-amps for home stereo's? This is a very clean powerful amp for $699.00. You would pay at least $1800.00 for half the power in a consumer amp. I'll never look back. I will admit the sound is a bit more analytical the best way I can describe it. I'll never run out of headroom. I have to laugh when I hear people talk about how harsh these pro amps are, I sure don't find them harsh at all. If your looking for a great sounding, quite, rugged amp, here it is. |
