I've been lurking around here for a couple days now reading as much as possible, very enlightening. There is still alot that I do not understand so hence this post of noob questions. I have a Denon 2805 arriving Friday. I do not have a BFD. The Denon has an auto eq which I don't put much faith in, but it has, I believe, an eight band equlizer for each channel that can manually be adjusted. I know that this is not close to the tweaking that could be done via the BFD but it is all that I will have for a while. My sub is a B&W ASW 600

.
Questions:
1. Will it be worth my while to use the Denon eq manually, based on REW results.
2. Before I run REW do I need to set distances and levels of my speakers in the 2805.
3. Should I use different eq settings for different inputs e.g. music vs HT.
4. Is it correct that I should strive for a flat response from my sub and a house curve for FR,FL with sub.
5. What kind of curve for 5.1 movies.
Thank you,
Chris
