Wayne, did you get your drive?
one thing I've noticed is there are 2 types of externals - those based on 3.5" hard drives and those based on 2.5" notebook drives.
some of the 2.5" externals do NOT require an external power supply - this is really handy - as you just plug the drive in and go - no power adapter to worry about...
All of the 3.5" externals DO require a power supply.
