Man whatever you do wire up for everything!!! Get in bed with you local HT installer, poke around find who's likable.

Things on your to do list should be,

Find where you want the equipment rack to be located (try to be as central in the house as possible)

Wire up with Cat 6 cable for any room that will be networked (Aks me for more info AIM or here)
Wire up any outside decks/patios for multi zone audio.
Wire up Bathrroms for speakers and added security panels. Think neat pads on the wall witha screen and front door camera feed to unlock doors, this is really great if you have kids and want them to see who is at the door w/o opening it.

I would wire up the theater for 9.2 speakers, this may be over kill but Emotiva and Parasound both allow extra Side Axis channels. I have listened to the difference and it is quite amazing.

Be open minded and not afraid to ask for help cause we all love help others.
